Author's Note: Hello everyone, hope you're all doing well. This chapter was actually supposed to be a double update on Friday along with Chapter 7, but it had to be edited and I ran out of time to do that. Here it is now though! I haven't been feeling very well these past few weeks since I have been sick, but I am also trying to update as often as I can. I have decided to take a small break until I am feeling better, so I won't be update for maybe two weeks. Thank you for your patience! Hope you have a wonderful day; you deserve it.

Chapter 8 [REWRITTEN] : Dante
It was not supposed to end up like this.
I will not let it be.
I was not supposed to feel for her, and I couldn't get Matteo's annoying grin out of my mind when I brought Aurora in with me. It was as if he knew that I was feeling for her, but that could not be possible.
Oh, how I wished he would have fallen down the stairs when he was leaning there like an idiot. Respectfully, of course.
It didn't surprise me when I saw her at the front of the restaurant. After all, I was the one who ordered the desserts as I had told Matteo to leave it to me. He agreed, but not without giving me that irritating facial expression once I informed him. He had to make it a bigger issue than it was.
However, I wanted to get lost in the glint of her eyes and hear her voice once again - an alluring melody that I haven't heard for two dreadful days. When I went to visit her at the cafe, she ran once she got a glimpse of my face and every day, I had to watch her teasing tight ass while she disappeared from my view and into the kitchen to hide.
After Aurora left the restaurant, I saw no point in staying in this tedious, lifeless party that Matteo had arranged, yet here I was stuck with people that I didn't even know. I was still bothered by a bitter thought she had left behind in my mind after her phone blasted a song about red lips, rosy cheeks, and wildest dreams. What the hell? Then, she requested me to show her the exit.
Who the hell is Bailey?
"Right, Mr. Venturi?" The man next to me asked as he drew me away from my contemplation. I didn't know whether I should be grateful or not that he was distracting me from my brutal, yet truthful thoughts. "Everyone thought so, but I didn't fail to notice the mistake in it." He let out a dry laugh.
What was he saying?
I only nodded my head in reply. "Excuse me," I said before attempting to leave. Key word: attempt.
As soon as I stepped away, I was surrounded by another group of men. "Mr. Venturi." A man called out. My hand came up to rub my temples quickly before opening my mouth to reply.
Perhaps Aurora wasn't a siren that has captivated me with her enchanting voice, but a charm - a charm that kept these vexatious men out of my sight that is.
"Boss." Alex finally decided to make his appearance in this crowd. "There is an important call waiting-" he said, looking at me knowingly.
Thank fuck.
"Alright." I replied before he even finished the sentence. What can I say? I was too desperate to leave.
"Are we meeting at Matteo's?" He lowered his voice as I neared him and away from the men.
"Yes." I glanced at him, leading our tracks to his office. "The call?"
Alex let out an abrupt laugh as he trailed not too far back from me, "I lied, Boss. You looked miserable."
