We warped to a town across the level floor it was on a mountain side with an overlook of the lake, the interior of the house had a smooth oak floor with a stone fireplace, the kitchen had a granite countertop, it was white with gray splotches across it.
"Welcome home guys" I said as I showed them the house, "I'm actually surprised Midnight, this house is gorgeous" Yamada said as she looked around in awe, "I agree, but how did you know about this place" Itashi asked, "I saw it when were at the lake the other day and I was hoping it wasn't taken yet, thankfully I was right" I smiled.
All that was left was to settle in, we didn't have much for furniture except for, a few beds and some chairs. We finished placing our furniture, and I decided to go take a walk along the mountain side. It was a beautiful day, the air was crisp, the breeze was cool, not too cool but just right.
"Today is perfect" I sighed as I laid in the grass. As I closed my eyes I heard something, it sounded like swords clashing together, "The hell is going on" I stand up and take my trident off my back. The sound grew louder as I got closer, I slide my mask over my face and put my hood on.
"Noroshi, stay back there" I turned to see a man being attacked, but I couldn't see the attackers. He held his shield up and it was covered in arrows. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a child, maybe 5 or 6 years old, he was hiding behind a tree. I creeped forward to see if I could get the archers in sight. I whistled over to the guy with the shield and mouthed 'Where is the archer?' he was shocked at first that I was there, he then understood, 'Top of the tree, 50 meters out to the southeast' he mouthed to me as he backed up towards the child.
"Kigari look out" the child screamed out. Kigari jumped forward and spun around to be met by a man with a katana. I ran forward to help him, launching my trident at the swordsman, as it hit him I jumped putting my knees into his chest. As swordsman hit the ground, I kicked off him pulling my trident out, as I went to jab him with the trident he pulled out a warp crystal and disappeared.
"Thanks for the help s..." Kigari paused as he thanked me and fell forward, revealing three arrows in his back, "Damn archer" I gripped my trident and charged towards the archer, but didn't reach him fast enough, he vanished with a warp crystal. I turned around and rushed toward Kigari.
"Its gonna be okay man" I put my trident down as I knelt down by him and began digging through my potion pouch. I pulled the arrows out of his back and turned him over, "Come on man you gotta sit up" I grabbed his shield and put it in the ground behind him so he could sit up, "That bastard got me good, huh" he said in a painful chuckle, "Noroshi come here little brother" the child came from behind the tree and knelt down by his big brother, "Sir may I get your name" Kigari coughed, "Its Midnight" he grabbed my arm tightly as he cried, "I haven't got long, he had poisoned arrows" I realized what he was saying and I took my mask off.
"Please take care of my little brother, if anyone deserves to make it out of here, its him, make sure he makes it out of this hell" I nodded as he turned to Noroshi, "I want you to be strong little brother, Midnight will keep you safe in my place" he put his hand on Noroshi's shoulder, "You can't leave me Kigari, please don't go" Noroshi cried as he hugged his brother tightly, "I love you little brother, good bye" he hugged Noroshi tightly as his health drained to nothing and shattered fading away. Noroshi began to pat around on the ground trying to keep his brother from leaving him, "Please Kigari don't leave me here alone" he cried harder as he pounded on the ground. I put my hand on his shoulder, he moved closer and hugged me. More blood on my hands, how much more of this world can I take. I shut my eyes tightly as I shed a tear, I swear to you Kiragi, your brother will make it out alive... Even if it cost me my life.
