Yamada and I returned home with Akuma, the new house was on top of a high platform. I arranged for our flag to be hanging high above our home, the house had a cobblestone foundation with sleek oak panels and a tile roof, it was two stories with a forge on the side, it had four bedrooms and huge kitchen on the inside.
"Home sweet home"Yamada said as we came to the door, "I will say this is much nicer than the last house" we went upstairs and got settled into one of the rooms. I plopped onto the bed and took my mask off, Yamada came over and laid next to me, "So beast tamer what now" I turned towards her, "We could get to know each other" she bit her lip to my response and moved closer to me, "I like that idea" right as we went to kiss, the door downstairs opened, "Yamada, Midnight make yourselves decent child in the house" Itashi yelled from downstairs. We sighed and went downstairs, "Akuma stay" I said as I left the room with the door open. We got downstairs and Noroshi had a small bow and quiver, "Look what Itashi got me Midnight" he showed me his bow being so proud of it, "That's awesome buddy" I tussled his hair,
"I got to introduce you guys to someone, Akuma come" Itashi looked confused as he heard foot steps coming down the stairs. Akuma came to the bottom of the stairs, "This is Akum-" Noroshi ran forward, "DOGGIE" he hugged Akuma tightly, played with his ears, and smiled with pure joy on his face. Yamada and I smiled, "This is Akuma" Itashi still looked confused, "I don't know what to say other than, what" we laughed and explained to him about what happened.
"Okay so it is safe to be around" I nodded to him. The sun began to set and it became dark, Noroshi was asleep on Akuma in his room, Itashi had fallen asleep on the couch downstairs, and Yamada had fallen asleep on my chest while I was reading a book on alchemy, I sighed as I closed my book and turned the light off. This life isn't half... My thoughts were stopped by the sound of shattering glass.
"Yamada wake up go get the others, awake" I shook her awake, she nodded as I swiped my menu down and equipped my armor and got out of bed. Yamada got her armor on and went to get the others. I slipped my mask on and readied my trident as I quietly went down stairs, a bright light was coming from the living, but when I turned the corner I found no one, only fire that had begun to engulf the entire downstairs.
"Shit" I ran up the stairs to where everyone was waiting for a fight, "Not now everyone we have to get out of here now" I grabbed Yamada's hammer and smashed a window and got onto the roof, helping everyone to get down.
"Akuma protect Noroshi" I patted his head and jumped off the roof. We got to a safe spot and watched as the fire swallowed our new home and our flag crumbled to ash.
"Who would do something like this" Itashi said enraged, I looked up to the house and saw a man with a sickening smile and... A cleaver. I clenched my fists tightly, Laughing Coffin, the mere thought of them made me even angrier as I grinded my teeth.
"I know exactly who did this, but we need to be safe first" I pulled a teleportation crystal out of my pouch, "Panarēze!" everything around us changed to the city of
Panarēze, I may have said be safe but my gut was telling me, that we were far from it. God help us all.
