Can you do one where to boys are asking the girls to a dance with a song and Rory asks the reader
Prom. Everyone's obsessed with it. A night you'll remember forever. Yeah right. When people talk like that I mentally roll my eyes.
Right now, that's what I'm doing as Tina and Mercedes practically gush over the subject as we walk to
Glee. "Who do you think gonna ask you?" I'm snapped out of my boredom by Mercedes question.
"Dunno. Don't care." I shrug.
This time it's them rolling their eyes "Yeah right. Lighten up a bit. I'm sure someone will ask you," Tina tells me.
"Maybe an Irish someone." Mercedes teases me.
I groan "I really don't care. Prom is stupid. It's a big deal over nothing. and last time I checked Rory was my friend." I stress the word friend.
"Sure," they drag out the word.
Maybe I do like Rory. A little. It's not my fault his accent is amazing, his eyes are the best I've ever seen, and his voice-okay maybe I do like like him. that doesn't mean he'll ask me. I still think proms stupid though.
In glee, prom was still the number one subject. Everyone already knew who was going with who. It was inevitable. Kurt and Blaine, Rachel and Finn, Tina and Mike, Puck and another victim. So, on so forth.
Tina makes a beeline to sit with Mike, she was still waiting on her 'promposal'. Blah. Mercedes dragged me over to sit with Sam. So, we know who she likes.
The room begins filling up. Mr Shue and Rory are the last ones to enter.
When Rory see's me he instantly walks over, sitting next to me. He smiles at me and I return it. We're friends. Close friends. Nothing weird but Mercedes still nudges me with a smirk and Sam shoots me a wink.
I squint at Sam. Either the glee club are all suddenly mind readers or Mercedes is trying to kill me.
"Prom season," Mr Shue claps his hands to gather our attention.
A few hoots filled the room, but my loud groan is heard over them. I fling my head back in despair "Not you as well."
"Yes, me as well," Mr Shue grins. "Proms meant to be a fun time. Time to laugh with friends and have pg. dances with them." His eyes scan the room, silently warning us. "And because its Prom we're doing Prom week. I'm talking love songs." The rooms divided. Girls loving the idea, boys already scared "And if their anyone in this room you plan on taking to prom maybe pick a special song," his eyes lingered on certain people.
As Mr Shue started to explain some new information on the song line up Rory whispered to me "Not happy then?"
"Not even slightly."
He chuckles "It might not be that bad,"
I shoot him a look "Can't you be cynical for one second?"
"Nope."
At the end of glee while we wait for the bell people are talking about what their gonna sing. I try blocking them out by going on my phone.
I look up as someone stands in front of me. "Mike?"
"Yeah um. Do you think Tina wants me to do some promposal thing or something?"
I give him a sympathetic smile "Sorry buddy. You're gonna have to."
"Thought so. Could you maybe help?"
That week Mike and I worked on his promposal. I may be a cynic but Tina's my friend. And Mike sounds like a bag of dying cats sometimes.
So, we ended up doing Sarah Smiles but changing Sarah to Tina. Mike danced, I sung, and Tina loved it when Mike asked her to prom.
I took my seat, while they had their moment, next to Rory. "I thought you were a cynic?" he asked.
"I'm also a friend. Apparently a good one. Being nice is...strange." Rory chuckled at my screwed-up face.
"So, has anyone asked you yet?" he asked.
"Nope. I'm not exactly lusted after in this school." I joked.
he muttered something I couldn't hear. "What would you do if someone promposed to you?"
I thought about it "um not sure. Depends on who it was. Probably threaten them if they did it in front of everyone though. But it's not like that's gonna happen."
He nodded and luckily dropped it.
Okay, I like Rory, I decided that night while trying to get to sleep. I sat up in my bed, running my hand through my hair.
It's not like he's gonna ask me. He would've done it already. Proms on Sunday and tomorrow Friday. Besides he's probably gonna ask Sugar or Brittany or someone else.
Glee was meant to start 5 minutes ago Rory, Sam, and Artie hasn't shown up yet. Mr Shue insisted we start though.
I wasn't really paying attention despite sitting in the front row, which Mercedes insisted on for some reason. I was thinking about Rory. Since when was I sappy? I asked myself.
What snaps me out of my thought was the gentle sound of the piano. I looked up to see Brad had started playing and Mr Shue went quiet, though didn't seem annoyed. I must have missed something.
"Wise men said," I look up to see Rory walking into the room, "only fools rush in," he sang. "But I can't help, falling in love with you," he stood in the middle of the room.
"Shall I stay. Would it be a sin," it sounded perfect with his voice "If I can't help falling in love with you,"
Sugar looked as though she was gonna melt on the spot. lucky. I thought. She giggled and shot me a quick glare. I roll my eyes mentally.
"Like a river flows, surely to the sea," Sam and Artie walk in, flowers in hand. Sugar is sat two seats away from me. They go past her though. She looks pissed.
"Darling, so it goes," Instead they hold the flowers out to me. "Some things are meant to be"
In shock, I don't take them, instead, the lay them on my lap before going to their seats.
"Take my hand," Rory walks over to me, kneeling in front of me, taking my hand. I didn't expect this, and my eyes are the widest they've ever been. "Take my whole life, too. For I can't help falling in love with you"
The piano fades out and I'm left looking at Rory "Will you go to prom with me."
I blink once, twice "Yes," I say loudly. He chuckles, and people clap slightly. Apart from Sugar whose plotting my demise "But if you ever do a grand spectacle like this we will have issues." I warn him.
"It's worth it if you say yes."
