****** = pov change
A/N: I changed the storyline a bit because the trouble tones sucked. Sorry, not sorry. This took me longer than I'd like to admit to start writing. I'd tried starting a couple times but stopped. I don't exactly do the whole gender thing and for a while threw around the terms genderfluid and nonbinary etc as I tried to figure things out. Now I'm just using gender queer to describe it since labels are complicated.
This was requested but I don't know if they want me to put a username in (if they do I'll update this) but if you have any lgbt themed requests I'm so down to do them.
As Santana and I walked through the halls, arms linked, people moved out our way, not looking us in the eyes. I wasn't an intimidating person but if Santana blinked to fast people jumped. Our unlikely friendship steamed from when she was briefly my neighbour in our last year of middle school. even once she moved, we stayed friends. It was awesome to have a friend stay by your side no matter how different you became.
We still did glee together. Walking in, arms linked as we had done since freshman year, we took out normal seats. Santana said she only joined so I wasn't on my own, but I know she actually likes it here.
As we waited for glee to start Mr. Shue walked in with a very attractive boy and Finn walked in. I looked to Santana who looked at me and wiggled her brows. I gave her a look and he just smirked. "That's the one staying with Brittney," she whispered.
"Lucky her," I mouthed.
Soon I found out the pretty face had a pretty voice. Of course, I clapped afterwards, trying not to make it too awkward. A smile fell on his face as people clapped. That adorable smile. The corner of my lips tugs up. Once his eyes met mine, I instantly looked down, a warm feeling spreading over my skin.
Thank god it was Friday. And Friday night meant.... sleepovers with Santana. It sounds anticlimactic but it had been a ritual since for the past 3 years. Just two people and a dumb amount of food. Okay let's be real cheesy movies, gossip, and teasing was involved.
"So that new kid?" Santana grinned at me as I walked in with the crisps/chips.
"Don't start. I will eat these all by myself,"
She stared at me, unblinking, "No you won't." I stared back before sighing and tossing her a bag as I sat on her bed, "You like him,"
"Don't,"
"Do,"
"Why are you all up in my business?" I ask.
Santana rolled her eyes, "Because you've been single since forever. Its time you got yourself a man. Or a woman or whatever the hell you're into."
"Theirs no point," I sighed.
Before Santana could respond her mum knocked on the door before instantly putting her head in, "Alright girls," I held back a cringe. "I'm going out tonight, but I don't want to come back to a mess, got it,"
"Yes Ms. Lopez," I said with a smile. Santana nodded along with a fake smile.
"I can trust you, dear," she smiled before her eyes went to Santana, "She's a little devil though. Bye girls," She said, finally leaving.
Girls, ugh. Why not 'you two' or something like that. Santana gave me a sorry smile. I turned to her, face blank, "That's why. He's either always gonna call me a girl and I'll be uncomfortable half the time. Or I'll tell him I'm genderfluid and he'll run for the hills and tell everyone then everyone's gonna judge me and my parents will find out and I am so not dealing with that," I ranted before catching my breath.
