After last time I put this date in my calendar. I never took Sam for a sap but on our 6-month anniversary he showed up to school with flowers and one of they weird stuffed bears. It's not that I don't like romance, more like I forget about it. In my defence flowers die.
This time was different. Sam and I had somehow been dating for a year. How I don't know. Glee club has a track record for drama, and Sam was no exception, but we've been going strong for, mostly, a year.
The box of chocolates and new football in my bag made me feel like a sap. He needed a new football but knowing Sam he'd never buy himself one but apparently, that's too 'clinical' so I figured chocolates would do but now I feel dumb.
Because I'm just so lucky Sam and I didn't get to see each other till lunch. Yay! Can you hear the sarcasm? Schedules are dumb. "Hey," He said as he dropped into his seat. I just grinned, feeling more nervous than when we went on our first date for some reason. Sam smiled at me before we started eating.
Glee kids stick together. Well sometimes. Either way today there was no drama and we were all sitting at the one table for lunch. Artie, who helped me figure out a gift for today, kept looking between Sam and me.
at first, it was subtle, and Sam seemingly didn't notice during lunch but when glee club came around Sam caught on. "What's going on?" Of course, everyone turned to face Sam and Mr. Shue went quiet. "Am I missing something?"
Artie let out a low whistle and looked down. "I hope you did not forget," Artie said under his breath.
Puck and I had been friends before glee, and I was the one who forced him to sign up. puck gave a death glare. "Sam, do you know today date?"
"Puck!" I whisper yelled, "Shh!"
"Can we get back to work?" Mr. Shue tried.
I rolled my eyes and held in a scream. Puck looked at me and scoffed, "Did you forget what today is?" he snapped at Sam, "What type of boyfriend are you?"
"Puck will you shut up!" I glared at him, "It doesn't matter,"
"Did you really think I forgot?" Sam looked so disappointed, "And what would you know about being a boyfriend?" He spat at Puck, "You knocked up your best friends' girl and just go through all the girls in this school,"
"Damn," Artie murmured. I could kill him but everyone in glee had gone quiet.
Well apart from two, "Who do you think- "
"Enough!" Mr. Shue yelled, "What is going on!?"
"Nothing!" I yelled, throwing my hands up.
"Sam's getting dumped," Artie muttered, I shot him a glare.
"Pucks a manslut!"
"And Sam forgot his anniversary!"
The two glared at each other, "I did not forget!"
"Sam it's okay," Mr. Shue said, "Things happen but you can't call Puck- "
"But I didn't forget- "
"I'm sure (Y/N) understands. Right?" Mr. Shue dragged me back into the conversation. "I'm sure it's not that big a deal- "
"It's their first year. Kind of a big deal," Puck said before slouching back into his chair.
Before more yelling could happen Sam basically threw himself out his chair and stormed out of the room. Mr. Shue tried to go after him but stopped ay the door. "Can we not have one day without drama?" Mr. Shue looked like he was about to cry and start ripping his hair out. I couldn't help but slump in my chair and avoid his look. The room was quiet for a few moments before Mr. Shue sighed, "Right well everyone I think- "Sam stormed back in though this time he had a bag in his hand, "Oh boy,"
"I did not forget," he said as he walked to a chair and began pulling things out the bag. "A mixed cd, 'boyfriend coupons'," He began pulling wrapped gifts out of the bag, putting them on a chair at the end of the row I was sitting on and behind Puck. "I even made a year of firsts and one of those 5 senses presents from Pinterest. So, don't say I forgot because I couldn't have pulled them from wherever! Could I? I just didn't want to make a big deal because I know (Y/N) doesn't like big gestures,"
The room was quiet. Puck looked at Sam then me. I looked away. "Sorry," Puck muttered.
Sam finally looked at me and it was as if his eyes cleared over and he realised, "Sorry. I know you don't like drama," he began to put the gifts back in the bag.
"You did all that? For me?" I asked. Mr. Shue sighed and just walked away, sitting at his desk. I couldn't care less about some 30-year-old man's tantrum over teens doing show choir.
"Yeah. I love you," That same old dopey smile appeared on his face.
I hid the one tugging at my lips. "That's pretty stupid of you,"
Sam laughed, "You just can't be romantic, can you?"
Artie not so subtly cleared his throat, nodding his head at my bag. I sighed and grabbed it, pulling out the shoddily wrapped football and chocolates. "I'm not one for romance," I said, standing with the gifts, "but they were half off so, here we are," Sam's cheeks flushed and he took the presents from my hand, not even bothering opening them, "and I love you too,"
"As sweet as this all is, you know finding out (Y/N) has emotions," Rachel said, standing and waving her hands in a little circle like always, "But do you think we could get back to rehearsals?"
"Berry will you sit down!" Santana snapped, "(Y/N) and Sam are finally having a moment and you will not ruin this, "Sam and I couldn't help but look at Santana in shock, "You're the only couple to actually last in this club and I will not have Rachel ruin it,"
