Can you hear me waves,
Crashing to the shore.
Would you be able to tell,
That I had shed tears,
Or would it all be salt water to you?
I am asking you ocean, simply,
Whether or not you comfort those who come to you sad.
.
I have heard,
You hold those people,
Suspend them within your cold, salty depths.
And that sometimes,
They never come back.
.
All I ask of you ocean,
Is that you hold me long enough,
Until I can stay no more.
And then let me come back up for breath,
So you may hug me once more.
I know you will comply ocean,
Because the moon has loved me fondly,
And you are under her command.
.
The stars have seen me crying.
Night is my friend,
You salty wild depths,
And I know that you belong to night,
More then you will ever belong to day.
.
So as you can see dear ocean,
I only want a hug.
One that will refresh me,
and make me feel loved.
I might come back wet,
and colder than I was.
But at least I will come back feeling,
Contented and perhaps even loved.
