Zzzzzt. Our flashlights died all at once.
"What happened?" Christina and Jack asked at the same time.
"Relax, just grab the other flashlights."I said. I grabbed mine and flicked it on and pointed it at them. Once all the flashlights were back on we continued. We were just at the edge of the settlement before something started glowing ahead.
"What is that?" asked Courtney. The light seemed to be getting closer.
"I don't know but I'm sure it's not good," Kelsey stopped and looked around "Quick hide in this building" She pointed to a dirt house with a shabby wooden door. We all quickly crammed into the house and shut the door. There was a glowing green light that shone through some cracks in the door then it was gone. I looked around the house and noticed a teddy bear in the corner. I went to pick it up but I noticed a diary next to it. On the first page it said "There is some kind of sickness going around. I am trying to find a potion to stop it but all I have done was release more angry spirits. Joseph has already fled the town with our daughter Abigail. I trust him to raise her without me." there was a few spots of water on the page.
" I will be staying here until I die of this sickness. To help the remaining townsfolk. Anyone reading this. LEAVE! This town will die if I don't stop it."
