We waited in the ventilation room for what seemed like an eternity when Kelsey finally broke the silence
"We're not alone." I looked at my watch and it read: 11:53
"It's okay we still have a few minutes left before it's 12." I said with a fake smile.
"Maybe we'll all make it out alive." Jack said.
"Why don't we wait by the front doors and just leave when its time instead of waiting around here in this cramped room." Christina said. I went to the door that led to the gym.
"Here goes nothing." I said as I pulled the door handle. Nothing. I let out a sigh of relief that had been building since we escaped that crumbling town.
"Come on lets go!" Kelsey said excitedly. She pushed me out of the way and jumped down the ladder. I got down right after her.
"Wait we should stick together." I said starting to go after her. Kelsey was just standing there and I stopped right behind her.
"Kelsey! Why are you just standing there?" Jask asked from behind me. He was standing next to me.
"What are you two waiting for?" Christina asked us. None of us answered her. She just walked straight past us and grabbed Kelsey's shoulder and turned her around to face us.
"AHHH!!" We all yelled.
