Diana was resting up in her suite late at night when she heard a knock on her door. She sighed exhaustedly, having just gotten back from the Ministry of Magic, working another day for the vindication of Sirius Black, her father. She opened the door, not expecting to see Draco Malfoy. "Diana," he sighed. "Aren't you a sight for sore eyes?" "What are you doing here, Draco? I didn't think you'd want to speak to me.... ever," Diana pointed out.

"Listen, I—I don't care about any of that, not anymore. I need you, as my friend," Draco practically begged. "I'm sorry." "Yeah. Sure. You always we were my best friend," Diana nodded with a sigh. "Come in. What happened?" "Here, Ana."
Draco handed over a small envelope, with the Malfoy seal. Diana smiled sadly as she opened it, with a hint of nostalgia. "Ticket to the Quidditch World Cup tomorrow. You remembered." Draco nodded. "We always did want to see a game of Quidditch together." "Look, it'll be perfect; my family wants you there, they gave me that ticket to come and give to you. I'd like to have you there, you're my best friend," Draco explained. "Yes, thank you, so much," Diana nodded. "Draco.... I know you don't think so, and sometimes you really aren't, but.... you're a good friend." "Thank you. Even if I don't exactly deserve that," Draco chuckled. "I'm sorry I was such an ass last year, Diana." "It's okay, Draco. I forgive you," Diana promised. "I was too." "Wait.... Luke wouldn't mind you going to the World Cup with me?" he asked. Diana nearly winced at the question. "Luke and I.... we broke up, a month ago." "Oh. I—I'm so sorry, Ana," Draco sighed. "Hey, it's fine, f**k it. I appreciate that," Diana shrugged. "Anyways.... I was told to offer you a place to stay, at the manor. Would you like to come stay with us?" he asked hopefully. "By the way, I understand how weird that really is." "Uh.... sure. Why not? It won't be that bad," Diana sighed. "I was packing up anyways. I'm actually headed to Hogwarts this year." "Oh? Really?" Draco asked as Diana picked up her bag, heading out the door beside him. "Yeah. I can stay there with all of you as long as I have a purpose for being there, so Dumbledore created a position for me as Snape's assistant," Diana explained. "You know, I've got terribly mixed feelings about that man," Draco Malfoy chuckled. "Brace yourself," Diana warned as they Apparated out of the building. "Ah!" Malfoy shouted as they ended up in front of the manor. "Oh, you'll get over it," Diana sighed as they continued walking. "I'm sorry that you have to deal with my parents wanting us to get together.... it's very strange, I'm starting to realize. You're my best friend," Draco frowned. "And your cousin," Diana added. "Oh, about that...." "What?" Diana asked. "My real mother is my father's dead sister Regina," Draco blurted out. "What now?" "My mother told me," Draco replied. "Apparently it was covered up because at the time, she was only eighteen, and died soon after, and my mother was infertile anyways." "I'm sorry," Diana sighed. "No offense, but it's still weird. "So am I, believe me. I agree. We just had a conversation that went from being about incest to being about my parents' lies, to us being together," he nodded. "Yeah...." Diana agreed awkwardly. "Let's talk about literally anything else." "Good idea, Ana," Draco nodded quickly.

"Diana Black! So lovely to see you. How fantastic it is that you were able to join us," Lucius greeted her. "Thank you, Lucius, Narcissa, I appreciate this all very much, it's so kind of you," Diana smiled. "It's no trouble at all, really," Narcissa Malfoy added. "It's late, why don't you both get some rest? We won't trouble you any longer. Please show our guest to the spare bedrooms, Draco." "Thanks, and good night," Diana nodded as they both headed upstairs. "Not bad." "Not necessarily," Draco sighed. "Bynie! Come take these upstairs, will you?" "Yes, Master Draco," a house elf nodded as he fetched the luggage, railing them on the stairs.
They reached the top of the stairs just as the elf was the last to reach the top. "The spare bedrooms are all on this end. Which would you like?" Draco asked, opening each door. "I'll just take this one, thanks," Diana smiled. "Master Draco, sir. May I be of any further service?" "Take these into that room, and do.... whatever it is that Diana wants you to," Draco ordered. "Draco, come on. Seriously?" Diana argued. He sighed. "You're lucky our guest is kind. What would you like, Diana?" "Bynie, you can just set it down here, I'll take it in. Go and enjoy whatever free time you've got," Diana offered. "Oh, thank you, Miss! You've been most kind to Bynie!" the elf cried in excitement. "Of course," Diana nodded as he walked away. "Well, uh.... I'll leave you to get some sleep. My room's just over there if you need me. I'll wake you up in the morning," Draco offered. "Thanks," Diana nodded. "Good night." "Good night, sweet dreams."

Diana woke in the morning to Draco Malfoy tapping her shoulder lightly. "Oh, hey," she yawned. "Good morning," Draco smirked. "Breakfast in bed?" Diana chuckled. "Sure."
He nodded, setting a tray in front of her as she sat up, sitting in front of her, eating his share as well. "That's incredible. I haven't had any real food in days," Diana sighed. "I've just been so f**king busy working." "About that. Whatever happened?" Draco asked quietly. "Oh, uh.... I hit a dead end. There was no evidence, Sirius was framed extremely well," Diana only half-lied. "I'm sorry," Draco murmured. "It's not a big deal, I mean.... I kind of knew that this would be the case. Besides, he's fine, either way. We can work something out. I've been getting the occasional letter from him, actually," Diana smiled. "Well.... at least you've got a father that loves you," Draco sighed. "Hey. Let's be honest here, Draco. Wouldn't you rather have Zeus as a father than Lucius Malfoy?" Diana pointed out. "Ow! F**k!" "What is it?" Draco asked.
Diana closed her eyes in pain, as her mind flashed many vivid images and sounds. "Diana Black would make a perfect heiress, to live alongside Draco. She's got a certain strength to her; she could keep Draco in check," Lucius Malfoy said. "I agree," Narcissa nodded. "Oh, God!" Diana cried, pushing the scene out of her mind. "Oh, hell no!" "What's wrong?" Draco asked. "I don't know—oh my God," Diana realized. "The spell...." "What spell?" he asked. Diana sighed. "After Luke and I broke up.... I got really angry, and.... I tried to siphon magic off of a god, a powerful one. Kratos. It worked for a second, and now.... I have a quarter of his godly energy in my system." "What? What does that even mean?" he stammered. "Well, this is the easiest way to explain it; once you've got godly magic in your system, it sticks. My parents are a goddess and a wizard. Wizards are basically almost demigods, so I was originally about seventy-five percent god. Then I absorbed about twenty-five percent of a god's energy. I am almost a minor god," Diana explained. "And when you use the name of a god, I'm guessing they can hear you, and can listen for as long as they want; a name is like an invitation." "Oh my God, Diana...." Draco began. "That's fantastic," he laughed. "I don't know," Diana shrugged. "Wait.... you're telling me the gods have to see things every single time someone uses their name? How is that possible, people must use their names all the time," Draco thought. "I don't know, Draco, but the gods aren't as worshipped as they used to be," Diana guessed. "Either way, they must have a bigger mind capacity than we do or some sh*t." "Well, if anyone deserves the title of god, it's you," Draco smiled. "Thank you, that really means a lot," Diana chuckled.

"Diana. Could I perhaps speak with you for a moment?" Lucius Malfoy asked. "Yes, of course," Diana smiled as they all prepared to leave for the World Cup. "Diana.... I know that you're considered a hero, and that you and my family have aligned values," "Yes, absolutely," Diana nodded. "What is it that you would like?" "Diana, are you familiar with the.... Dark Lord's agenda?" he asked. "And would you say that you agree with it?" "You do," the voice of Kratos ordered. "Yes, I do," Diana lied. "That's good to hear, Diana. How would you like to join the cause?" Lucius Malfoy murmured. Diana nodded. "I'm interested."
