THE SHADE

"I can't do this anymore" She told her best friend between violent sobs. "I can't!"

"I know, I know" He patted her back. "Hey, calm down. I promise you; everything will turn out okay"

"No, it won't!" She got up on her feet, screaming as tears ran down her cheeks. "It wont! It wont, it wont, it wont! Nothing will turn out okay, and you know it! Stop lying to me you-"

His arms were around her as he quietly whispered to her; "Please stop"

"No! I-I am f-fucking d-d-dying and you k-know it! She stuttered, she always did when she was upset.

"Please, calm down, just breathe-"

"But I can't breathe, I am c-choking!"

He took a tight grip of her shoulders, forcing her to meet his worried gaze. "Listen to me-" She was about to say something but before she could he spat; "Shut the fuck up and let me say what I wanna' say" She nodded, now starting to shake. "Do you think that you're the only one here who's having a hard time?"

She kept quiet.

"You think that you're the only one suffering, but you know what? You're not! Hell- How do you think things are going for me? You don't even ask! You're just coming here, crying and waiting for me to make you feel better again, but who makes me feel better? Who are telling me that everything will be okay? I'm sorry to break it to you, but it isn't you!"

"I-I'm-"

"Shut up!" He yelled, his anger growing bigger every second. He had to get away from her before he did anything stupid. He let out a deep sigh before he started to walk away.

"Don't leave me" She begged, and he heard the sadness in her desperate voice. "Don't leave me here"

"You know I wouldn't" He answered, without looking at her. "I care too much. I care way too much" He whispered, mostly to himself, before he raised his voice again, so she could hear him;

"We're leaving next week"
