Dear Wrenbird,
You got me a gift today.
When I asked what for, you simply said:
“No reason. I just felt like getting you something.”
It was a relatively small box.
So I instinctively knew it wasn't a puppy or a kitten.
But I did think it might've been a Bearded Dragon...
Kidding.
When I opened it, I found a thick leather arm band.
You were smiling timidly, not meeting my gaze.
So I picked it up and noticed the blue circle dangling from the leather bracelet.
It swirled with different hues of blues and purples.
And I couldn't help thinking, “It looks like a blue moon.”
Which I guess I actually said out loud.
“Yep,” you said, “that's what I was hoping you would think.”
I smiled. “Is it for what I think it is...?”
You nodded and glanced away, your cheeks pink.
My god, when did I get so lucky?
None of my past girlfriends had ever thought of something like this.
Then again.
I haven't felt this way about any of them, either.
Once in a blue moon, Wren.
Once in a blue moon.
August 1,
Koda
