Today was a better day.

At first, you didn't answer my calls.

And I thought that maybe you had decided you didn't want to have anything to do with me after all.

But then you showed up on my doorstep.

I pulled you into a kiss and then hugged you tight.

I made you promise not to stop talking to me again.

Didn't even stop to think that maybe you were still mad at me.

Just did what I wanted.

Damn.

That sounds worse than it was.

I'm sorry.

Anyway, you said that we'd both been stupid.

“Who fights over something so little anyway?”

I laughed and then we set out for the countryside to shoot off fireworks.

When we came back, it was almost midnight and I was dropping you off at your house.

We ended up staying up to watch a movie because you said you weren't tired.

But I was.

I fell asleep using your lap as my pillow.
