Percy Jackson: Guardian of the Hunt

Chapter 17

I walked up and I saw that they all were tied to each-other by a rope, but then I noticed that Artemis wasn't there and I growled in rage before trying to calm down the best I could and asking them. I cut them apart and they stood up and stretched their cramped limbs.

"Are you guys okay" I asked and they nodded "they didn't do anything to you at all" they shook their heads again and I breathed in relief at that.

"Where is our mistress" I asked and they looked down in sadness and regret

"S-she was taken by Atlas as a trade for the power Lycaon had gotten" Phoebe said and I growled before making her bow appear on her back and the others followed suit. Once they all had their weapons back I had them hold hands and then I touched Phoebe's shoulder and was about to flash them to where Thalia was but then I remembered Vivian.

"I recently rescued a bunch of twins and one of them, Vivian is male, so please don't shoot him or hurt him, okay" I said and she nodded, but had a small bit of anger in her eyes at the fact that a male was in their camp and I flashed them to where Thalia was and I smiled at the thought of Thalia jumping as they suddenly surrounded her without warning.

I shifted and made my armor appear and then I shot after where Atlas, or Artemis was under the sky with only two goals, free Artemis and conquer Atlas again, or kill him once and for all. I ran for close to an hour till I got to where Atlas' homeland was and I saw that it was being restored as Atlas grew in power and I just got over the edge of the mountain to see Atlas shoving Artemis toward the sky which was being held up by a pillar of earth. I was confused how did Atlas get the Earth to obey and help him, and then I saw that the top of the earth was getting constantly as it grew up holding the sky into place as it turned to ash at the top where the sky and the earth met. As Artemis fell forward the earth seemed to sense her and it shrank into the ground and the sky came down and was barely kept from crushing Artemis as she suddenly got into a kneeling position with her arms, shoulders, and back holding up the sky. Then I saw the chains and I growled before shooting out and ripping the head off of the Earthborn holding the chains and grabbing them in my teeth before stopping in front of Atlas growling in my primordial form with all of my battle armor on. Then I noticed that the ground under me was stirring and I noticed too late as giant chains of earthen diamond reached up and chained me to the floor and I was about to bite it off when another chain wrapped around my neck and clamped around my snout before it linked to another wrapped around my body and they both weighted me down before I eventually fell to the ground struggling and growling in the face of the titan.

How did you get Gaea to join you, she a good goddess now what did you do to her I growled and Artemis' screams of agony and pain behind me only made it worse.

"Oh I didn't mother was just as stubborn as you so we, hmm, let's just say that the earth has been swayed through a concoction of many poisons and charms" he said smiling evilly  " and I already know what you are going to want after I give you a chance to join me and destroy Olympus" he looked at me only to get a growl in response.

You know my answer and since you know what I want how about you let me out of these chains so that I can rip out that ugly addition on top of your neck I said and he laughed evilly

"Haven't changed at all have you Perseus" Atlas grinned and then grabbed the top of my chains just above my wrapped snout and dragged me around to see Artemis struggling to hold up to sky, but I could feel her weakening and some parts of her were already starting to fade "take her place under the sky and I will return her to the hunt unharmed I swear on the Styx and not will any of the hunters get harmed nor those with them". Thunder overhead sealed the path and I whimpered a little at seeing my Artemis under so much pain like that, and I looked at Atlas and nodded pleading for him to let her go. He smiled and was about to remove my chains until he stopped.

"But before I do that I need you to swear as well" he said and I growled

What do you want me to say I growled huffing in annoyance, the more pain she went through the more pain I felt ten fold as I took it in trying to ease her pain and heal her, or at least help her a little.

"Swear that you will swerve me for as long as you carry chains and that you will not harm me or anything under my control until you are free of them" he said and I did. Then he took my chains and told me to shift and I did and I grew to godly height and made only my armor appear and I tapped into my primordial powers before I was shoved into Artemis and I watched switch satisfaction as she was forced from the burden, but it was short lived as the weight of the sky came rumbling back into my memory as it crushed me against it and the earth.

I felt something cold on my hands and I could barely open my eyes as I pushed up to get into position with a knee on the ground, my head and eyes looking at the ground with the sky in my shoulders held up by then and my arms and hands and my body hunched and already sweating from the strain. It started as a slight burning sensation and I could watch as they put pit chains on my hands and ankles making them burn and sizzle as the Pits metal burned into my armor and into my skin where it branded it. Then I saw Artemis get flashed out by Atlas who came over and kneeled laughing evilly at his satisfaction afterwards.

"Enjoy this and remember it Percy because you are going to be here for a long, long time" he said and walked off leaving me with the chains, monster sentries, and searing numbing pain of the sky's weight upon my back.
