"Fuckin hell." Mark whispered.

"Elise." Alfie stammered.

"Jesus Christ I'm so sorry." Jay said quietly.

"Be sorry if we lose, drag your arse in there! If we take these out you are guaranteed a place!" Alfie yelled as he took off, brandishing his hatchet in a violent fashion.

Jay stood still in pure shock, he'd never even seen this amount of infected before, at least not in one place anyway.  He looked at Izzy, she was equally as horrified, her eyes wide and bloodshot from lack of sleep.  It was just out of the frying pan and into the fire.

"Listen mate." He heard Mark say.  "You've helped us, and we can help you, so please, help me keep my daughter alive."

Jay stared at Mark and nodded instantly.  He couldn't possibly know what it would be like to lose a child, losing their dad that night was bad enough, so a daughter musta be a thousand times worse.

"Come on, sis." Jay spoke.  "We're gonna help these people out."

"Thank you." Mark said before charging into the horde.

"Hang back if you must." Jay said to Izzy.  "Get in the student accommodation and don't come out until I found you.  You got that?"

"Got it." She said, her voice trembling.

Jay watched as his sister ran, bypassing the horde and vaulting over the about chest high wall that looked like it was in mid construction.  The people here must have had something good going for them.  Something that he and his sister would be wise to get in on.  Or, if he didn't survive, at least his sister.

"Fuck it." He spat on the ground next to him and grabbed the gun he'd taken from Alfie and charged in, falling in next to the two of them.

"You better fuckin not!" Jamie bellowed as he swung at the woman about to bite into Corey.

His hatched lodged into her temple and knocked her head away just before she sunk her teeth in, leaving Corey panting and shaking.

"Get up before they swarm!" Jamie yelled, yanking his hatchet free.

As he yanked his arm, the blade of the hatchet came away from the stick, remaining in the woman's head, leaving Jamie with a useless twig.

Corey scrambled backwards, kicking his feet at the infected that were now crawling towards him, each fighting to get a bite of his lovely, succulent flesh.
Wildly kicking out, Corey got to his feet and dragged a small infected boy off of Jamie's waist, chucking him into the crowd and batting an infected in the eye with the hilt of his hatchet.

"Fuckin hell, we're getting swarmed!" Jamie yelled, smacking a woman in the face with the hilt.

A rotted man lunged straight at Corey, outstretching its arms like in the typical Romero type fashion.  Corey stuck his foot out and shoved its head to the floor, missing its gnashing teeth by millimetres.  The encounter was so close that he felt himself let his bladder go loose slightly.

Jamie was struggling against a rather large looking infected man, fighting to the teeth to keep his hand on his forehead.  In a desperate attempt to throw the rabid creature off, Jamie dug his thumbs into the mans eye sockets and ragged his head around, violently breaking bone and tearing flesh.  As he did this, a variety of different bugs crawled out from the mans eye sockets, scuttling down Jamie's fingers and making him pull back in disgust.
