A slight chill swept through the valley disrupting the stillness of the trees and shrubbery, and tugging at the coats of the three battle weary exorcists. Two of the exorcist lingered noticeably far behind the third, all of them covered in the thick blood of the akuma that stood in their way but moments ago. The exorcist Ren leaned over to the other and timidly spoke "I...I've never seen anyone fight like that before... it almost looked like she was enjoying it, it just wasn't natural you know." The other exorcist Jordon clutched his left arm and cringed as warm red blood seeped through his fingers and steadily dripped onto the parched ground. "I don't want to talk about it... it sends shivers up my spine." Jordon quickly snuck a glance at the dark silhouette of the woman ahead of them; her strong gait even in the rocky slopped terrain, was unwavering. Ren stifled a whimper as he recalled the image of Shaun cleaving off the akumas head with a single stroke of her scythe, accompanied by the torturing sounds of her laugh just barley overpowering the akumas panicked screams. "Now I know why..." Jordon muttered mostly to himself, but loud enough for Ren to hear. "Why what?" Ren stuttered, "Why they call her, the bloody reaper..."

The two men quickly quieted as they noticed the women in front of them had turned around and was now staring back at them, her eyes like icy blue pools and her blonde hair resembled fire in the red setting sun. "We will never make the next village by nightfall, we rest here tonight." The two men straightened up, "Auhhh yes ma'am." Jordon replied. A pang of sadness entered her icy glare when she noticed the fear in his voice, but it was quickly banished by the anger of being addressed as ma'am, as if she was above them. Shaun's eyes narrowed and she started towards him but stopped herself before overreacting, she closed her eyes and lowered her head to breath. Her shoulders that were just so tense relaxed,"I am no superior of yours so drop the ma'am before I really do something to send shivers up your spine." She said calmly before clipping his right shoulder as she passed. Jordon tensed send shivers up your spine! Had she heard me!? he bit his tongue, shared a frightened look with Ren, then followed Shaun as she lead them off the path and into the thickening wood, to camp for the night.

Ren and Jordon lied asleep close to the fire, the soft hum of the forests bugs echoed through the night air. Shaun sat perched in an old tallow tree just out of reach of the fires warm light. She pulled her cloak over herself and sat back on the trees ragged trunk, "Why do I even bother with them, I know they would only feel safer with me gone..." Shaun wrapped her arms around her legs and pulled them close to her chest. "I didn't ask for any of this... I never wanted any of this. I was always treated like this even in my own village... Just some filthy damaged orphan, not worth anyones time." she chuckled to herself "None of that changed, I'm still hated and now with this innocence I'm feared too. I was told I had a gift, a gift from god... I was told everything , I was given no choice at all, you are an exorcist, you will fight in this war, you will save the earth" Shaun's eyes darkened "Why... save people... people who steal, rape, and kill without reason... why save a world not worth saving... why would I love a world that never loved me." Shaun watched her breath cloud up in front of her as she talked to herself, almost calmed by it. All of a sudden her hair stood on end and a long eerie silence consumed her. Something's not right! She thought. The bugs they've stopped! Shaun stood up on her branch eyes cutting through the darkness before her, there in the distance a red hot glow... not the morning sun... but the village of Pale rock valley.

"JORDON! REN! Haul your ass's out'a bed we need to go now!" Shaun yelled while leaping from her perch. Ren roused and punched Jordon's good shoulder before angrily shouting "We are injured and tired, what do you think you're doing waking us now!" a reflection of the fire danced in Shaun's eyes she reached for her scythe, unsheathed it, and mercilessly slashed the ground in front of the fire, putting it out and sending a strong sandy wind right at the two tired exorcists. "HE-uh" Jordon stopped his protests as soon as he caught Shaun's cruel stare, the campfire was out but the reflection of hot burning light in Shaun's eyes had not even dimmed. He knew right then that something was very wrong.
