Xue Lin?

Tengfei was beyond shocked, being the husband of Lin candidate meant he certainly know his fair share of his wife's family history since Elleana would tell him stories about her side of the family. He knew who Xue Lin was, she was the first and last female head of the Lin family.

She was known to be a coward who hid away, letting other families take the spotlight when their family was perfectly capable of overthrowing top families at the time.

Tengfei was certain that he never taught his daughter any information regarding about the Lin Family, so how does she know about Xue Lin?

"There was a book that I came across a book, it contained all Lin family history records, martial arts with few spells, I casted a spell by accident, causing for me to meet Xue Lin along the way." Elias told half of the truth, vaguely explaining about what happened and not mentioning Orfeo's existence "I was able to hold some conversation with her and gave me some sort of reward to be able to summon her. She told me that my tattoo was something like a ticket to a temple, I wanted to save the book but it self-destructed before I can finish reading the entire thing..."

Tengfei was usually never loss for words, he thought there's always something to say, but right now, he's speechless at his dauther's words. He furrowed his brows, massaging his temple to eases out the upcoming headache. It hasn't even been an hour, and he's already ingesting a lot of information. His daughter is way too reckless.

"Perhaps it was a mistake leaving you behind..." Tengfei's voice was low and somewhat filled with guilt "I thought leaving you under your mother friend's care was the best way for you to live normally since your mother and I are constantly being chased by my family. The two of us never thought it was going to be like this. We were so afraid that the my family would train you to be a killing machine, that we resorted to leaving you behind..." 

Elias quietly listen to her father talk.

"When I heard that you exchanged your freedom to my brother, I was frustrated at myself that I couldn't protect you from him!" Tengfei's voice  was shaking with regret, how could he not?

It's just parent's love.

Despite of how intimidating he looks, he's a man who deeply cares for his own family! It broke his heart when he had to depart with his little girl at such a young age but he had to do what he thought would be the best for her.

"What made me frustrated even more is that you acted as if you were fine! I was so blinded by rage that I slapped you." Elias never expected for her father to breakdown in front of her "I just wanted you to grow up normally like the other children ...I'm sorry for hurting you, will you forgive your foolish father"
