Chapter Twenty-six

Sweet smile, Bitter past

It has been a while since Minami and I had been together. I really liked Minami, and I would do anything to keep her safe even if she's the strongest from the two of us. I sweat dropped at that thought, she can't always save me or herself so I should also save her! Its just fair.

I looked around, everyone but Me, Minami, Ace, Gwen, and Vivian had left the house. Wilson had gone out to meet up with the boss, Axel went along with Nishi and Taiyo who volunteered to pick up some supplies, Wendy and Amber went to the marketplace to buy some food, and lastly Melody who went with them. It was a lonely house, but we were all lazy to even think about joining the others at this hour.
Then at the stairs, Gwen was coming down and behind her was Ace who had both her hands inside her hoody pocket, her hair was in a messy bun, her eyes dull. "Look Look G-Chan!" I noticed Gwen held a book in her hands, it was the same book Ace had been reading since we were inside that asylum. "A-San taught me how to read!" The little girl exclaimed, stopping in front of me with the book in her hands. "I really love Alice." I looked up at Ace, she had this expression that she didn't want anyone saying that name at all. It pained her.

"I-I'm sure you do sweetie, how 'bout you read it to me?" I asked, to try and distract Gwen from ever asking more from Ace.

"Okay!" She said, her eyes sparkled with delight. She then pulled me towards the couch, sat me down and then began reading as she sat down next to me.
I looked at Ace again and she seemed to be out of it, but managed to walk away from the living room towards the kitchen. I was worried about her. Somehow I can't seem to memorize her, even just a tiny bit. When you thought you fixed her puzzle of a life, she jumbles it up again.. she doesn't want anyone to see who she was in the past, scared that someone might leave her again. She came back, a cup of water in her hand, she came towards us and gave the cup to Gwen. "Be sure to drink, your throat might dry up." She knelt down as she said this, and being the sweet Gwen she drank the water and said thank you. Ace stood up, grabbed the cup and then walked away again. When she came out of the kitchen, I called to her but she didn't acknowledge me, she just opened the door and walked out closing the said door after.

'What has gotten into you today?' I was really worried, scared what she might do because of what happened a few nights back. I heard what they said inside that Abandoned Amusement park, I knew so little of Ace but I felt like I knew her for a very long time now. Based from what I heard, Ace was a rape victim.

I kicked a stone, grunting as I did. Melody wasn't here so I feel shitty again, sometimes I wish I was with her 24/7. I sighed, sitting down on the ground full of flowers and grass. The trees swayed from side to side because of the wind, it was peaceful here and quiet. I closed my eyes, Admired the breeze that hit my skin softly. "What would have you done Gunther if you had more time?" I asked the air, I needed advice and Gunther was the person who came into mind. Me and Gunther had our differences, but He was the only Leader in my eyes. I snapped my eyes open, Looked around and sighed. I began to think that this life isn't what I deserve, its too perfect to be true.

My eyes were open, I never closed them but... how come I feel like I'm dreaming right now? I looked around, I was in high school again. Almost entering Senior High. I gulped, I was back in my nightmare. I looked down at my arms and saw the scars I made myself and the gigantic bruise my Uncle had given me that night he raped me. I wanted to cry, but its not the time. I looked around, as I walked I saw everyone in my high school that I remembered.
