Tombstone

A/n: so i saw this idea and I can't help but think "that's such a Jason Todd storyline" so here I am with this story, not sure how it turned out though

Halloween night, a blissful night where kids trick or treat, teens party and adults just sit around their apartments watching sitcoms. you were one of the kids who decided to visit nearby graveyards at halloween night. not to vandalize them but to pay respects to them. though some of your friends only went to impress their girlfriends, or to just scare each other.

while you were occupied in your own thoughts, you didn't realize that your friends was nowhere to be seen anymore, walking around, you were brought back to your senses due to the chilling silence of the place. looking around you found yourself alone near the Wayne's tombstones, where Bruce Wayne's relatives lies. shrugging to yourself, you just proceeded to walk and pay your respects to them. you weren't really scared, why would someone be scared of something they don't believe in?

as you walked deeper in the cemetery, you found something weird, a couple tombstones away, you saw a name, what's weird was how the name was blinking, it looked as if a light bulb almost running out of light, it was fading.

walking closer, the light seemed to blink even faster

your heart raced faster, you've heard about this phenomena, that when a person becomes 18, their soulmate's name should light up. you didn't think you'd find your soulmate's name in a cemetery "nah nah.. this can't be!" you laughed it off, scoffing at the tombstone. I't should light up very brightly once you read the name out loud, snickering you just sighed and tested it "though it's impossible.. I guess I won't really loose anything once I say it" closing your eyes for a moment you began to breathe in "....Jason.. Todd" you muttered out. and as if fate hates you, there it was, his name lighting up like it was the fourth of july.

"oh my God!" you screeched out, involuntary tears forming into your eyes "my.. my soulmate is dead..." you began to weep, you cried in front of the glowing tombstone, you cried even though you didn't know the guy, yet there was a weird pang of sadness coursing through your heart.

"(Y/N)??!! You theere??" you heard your friend call out. wiping your tears and standing up, you sniffled as you grabbed your last rose, you left it next to his name. "I wish I had met you before Jason.. I wonder what you're like.I wonder if you'll even like me..." you sniffled once more with a sad smile.

"(Y/N)!! Im serious! where are you?? are you there???" your friend's voice echoed out once again. sighing, you gave the tombstone a hug before running off "I'm here Roy where you at?!!" you yelled back while looking for your friend not knowing that at the top of a tree, a couple tombstones away sat your soulmate, watching you.

"she seems interesting..." he thought with a small smile as he walked towards his tombstone where the light in his name slowly fades away as you get further and further from it. picking up the rose that you have left, he began to inspect it. "I wonder as well.. If you'd like me.. (Y/N)" just like that, he left the rose on where it laid, putting on the hood of his hoodie, he walked out of the cemetery. Not realizing that you and him have crossed paths as you'll both later on find each other once more.
