Loki's POV
I sat in the room I'd been given. This tower was strange. I wasn't going back home, I wasn't even allowed to. Anyway they'd lock me up again.
There was a knock on the door, I stood up and opened it, it was my brother. "Is there something you need?" I asked him, "No, I just wanted to know how you were!" Thor said offended. "Well I'm fine, it's just strange here! How can stand being here?" I asked raising my eyebrows, "I'm with my friends and Jane" he said crossing his arms. "Well at least I'm not stuck with you! You'll be going back soon, won't you?" I said hoping he might. "Yes but I'll be able to see you and I'll come for visits or if earth needs protecting! It is my duty to help the others and so you won't be rid if me for long!" I forced a sarcastic smile, "Well see you later brother!" I said shutting my door. I didn't want to talk to anyone at the moment!
There was another knock, "GO AWAY!" I shouted, "Loki, I need to talk to you!" The voice shouted back. It was Maria, what did she want? "Fine! What!' I said opening the door. "Thank you!" she smiled, "Can I come in?" she asked, "Ok..." I sighed. Maria sat on a chair, "Right, I've come with news. Good and bad." she said in a uncomfortable tone. "And the news is..." I pushed, "Well while you're new to the team you do whatever we say. When we're not on missions you'll be working with me. Loki, you need to learn to be loyal. After you helped save Captain Rogers we think you must have a bit of decency in you." I laughed, "Nope. There's none here!" Maria smiled, "Oh, I doubt that. Somewhere inside there's a heart willing to take sacrifices for your friends. You just need to find it." Maria stood up and left, I think our conversion had been cut short. I know this is very unlike me but I couldn't help thinking, what if she was right? what would happen then? I decided to move from that subject untill it needed attention. For now I had to become loyal to a bunch of idiots for my own survival.
Steve's POV
I sighed, was this really meant to be my life? I'd never thought this would be how it all turned out. The skinny kid from Brooklyn now a super soldier! It hurt my head thinking about it.
"Steve..." I looked up. I hadn't noticed but Natasha had been staring at me. "What's the matter?" she asked softly, I smiled at her, "Nothing. Everything's fine. Just reminiscing." I stood up and hugged her. She hugged me back, "Steve, you feel all cold. Are you unwell?" I broke the hug, "I'm not sure, Bruce said it's all fine." "Ok, do you want to go for walk or something?" Nat asked, "Sure" I smiled.
We walked in silence, Natasha slipped her hand into mine. We walked for a few more minutes. This silence was killing me. I suddenly felt the urge to kiss Nat. I pulled her closer and planted my lips on hers. We stood in the dark kissing. It felt electrical in some odd way. As we stood there thoughts of losing Natasha filled my mind. I kissed her even stronger and she returned the strength.
The night air began to feel cold. It wasn't just a nice warm breeze like before now everything went thick and cruel. Natasha started to shiver. She pulled away and stared at me in shock, "Nat, what's wrong?" I said worry thickening in my voice. "Steve..." she whispered, "What's wrong with you?"
I started to shiver as well, "Nat, it's me. Why do you look so scared?" I could feel myself starting to lose it. Tears welled up in Natasha's eyes but she didn't let them fall. "Your skin is freezing cold and..." Nat was about to carry on but I cut in, "That's just because it's cold out!" I said though I knew it wouldn't really make a difference. "No Steve, it's not cold....anymore."
I walked closer to Nat and she stepped back, "Please, don't do this..." I whispered. Natasha let a tear fall, "I'm sorry" she whimpered. I held her hand and her eyes widened with fear, "It's alright" I said pulling her closer. Natasha lay her head on my chest, "It's not so cold" she said with more life in her voice, I smiled "See it's still me." She kissed me on the lips for a few moments, "How was that?" I asked teasing ever so slightly. "That still hurts. It's like a knife stabbing me in the back, over and over." My heart sank, mabye this was the end. "Steve I can't lose you!" Nat cried into my chest. I could feel her start to shiver again, "You don't have to" I said trying to sooth her. She carried on sobbing as we stood there. Half of my mind was telling me that if I didn't let her go she'd die. The other half told me that if I let her go every light would be extinguished forever.
"Steve, I love you" Natasha said, "I love you too" I whispered kissing the top of her head. At this point we didn't care how much pain are physical body was going through. "If this the last time I'm gonna be in your arms, I want you to know that you are the best thing that's ever been mine." Natasha said her crying becoming a few silent tears. I took a beep breath in, "Do you remember in your old house. When you passed out and had that vision?" I asked holding Natasha as if I let go everything would fall. "Yeah....why?" Nat asked curious, "Do you remember what I said?" I asked again, "Yes. Yes I do." Natasha answered. I pulled away so I could see her eyes. They were so enchanting, like a beautiful green sea. My hands fell from her arms to her waist, "Well I just want you to let know one thing...." I kissed her softly for a couple of seconds, "I'll never let you go."
Ok so that's the end! I'm sorry this story wasn't really 'Amazing' like so many. Well like I said it's my first! I hope you enjoyed it and comment your overall opinion. Thank you so much for EVERYTHING!
Love you all,
