Troy and Yugi stood a few feet apart from each other as they were ready to begin the dual. Yugi had thought they would just be dueling inside right then and there, but Troy had other plans.
"I'll let you start the dual, Troy, what's your first move?" Troy had a pretty sneaky smirk on his face.
"Not so fast right there, mate, we're not dueling here. I've got other plans for this dual,". Yugi was surprised.
"What plans? What are you talking about?"
"We're not dueling here or right now....tonight. Midnight exactly. Not a second earlier or later. At the abandoned train tracks downtown. If your smart enough you'll prepare for a dual and be there,". Troy stepped forward face to face with Yugi.
"Ya got that?"
"You're on. Midnight - got it," replied Yugi. Troy turned around and joined back up with his little gang.
"I'm not wanting you to forget so I'll remind ya now," started Troy, "if you win the dual, you get the cyber dragon back, but if I win you give me your strongest card."
"That sounds about right to me," Yugi stated.
"I'm gonna let you go, now, but don't forget or there might be some consequences,".
"I don't think you'll be missing out on this dual," said Yugi, turning back around and walking towards Mia. He set a hand on her shoulder gesturing her to follow him.
"Come on, Mia," said Yugi, "let's go home,". Troy gave them one last remark.
"Better prepare for anything,". Yugi stopped in front of the door and looked back at Troy for one last time.
"I believe it's you who should be the one to prepare for anything". Yugi and Mia then walked out the door, as Mia took her first steps in her path to her new home. Mia was excited, but she didn't entirely know everything about who this guy was yet, or what his other friends were like or anything. But she grew calm and knew she could trust him. She didn't know where the feelings came from, but something was telling her she was meant to be with him for a reason.
Yugi and Mia walked side by side along the sidewalk. She was acting kind of quiet around Yugi, and she didn't want to act like that around him. Mia wanted to ask him questions and get to know him more.
"So you know how to play Duel Monsters?" she asked Yugi looking up at him with curiosity.
"With the best of them," he replied.
"And you could really teach me how to play and be a good dualist like you?"
"Yes I can, and I will,".
"Really?" Yugi nodded. Mia smiled.
"Thank you,". Yugi smiled.
"Anytime, don't mention it,". Both Mia and Yugi looked back ahead of them, walking to the game shop.
"So where are we going?" Mia asked Yugi.
"You'll see,". Mia knew Yugi didn't want to tell her anything, yet, but she was really anxious to know.
"Come on, tell me," Mia urged, slightly laughing. Yugi, on the other hand, kept his lips sealed.
"Mia, I told you," reminded Yugi, "you will see where we are going soon enough,". Mia gave in, laughing at herself because she lost in getting her information.
"Okay, okay. Fine,". She relaxed for a second, recollecting her mind. Mia looked back up at him a little one last time, she noticed his eyes. To her inside those eyes looked a brave and strong person, one that could take care of her and protect her well.
'He looks so strong, and brave, I can see it, but I almost feel like I've known him before,'. She thought for a second, but she figured it was her mind playing tricks on her that she has known him before. Mia shook off her thoughts and focused on making sure she was following Yugi in the right direction. Mia looked down at Yugi's hand for a second but then immediately looked away, thinking she was crazy. She tried to hold back from her thoughts of action, but she couldn't help herself. She just felt really safe with him, she didn't know exactly what she was feeling next to him except safety and comfort. And she didn't know how to control it.
Mia moved closer to Yugi's side, as her hand slipped into Yugi's.
"Hm?" Yugi looked down at Mia, Mia was looking more down towards the ground as the both of them continued walking. Except Yugi noticed something suddenly looked different about Mia. She looked much calmer and relaxed than she did before, and he felt that calmness within her, too. Yugi looked ahead of him as he saw they were approaching closer to the game shop.
"We're almost home, Mia,". Mia smiled, her excitement growing slightly, yet she figured that within every passing hour the dual that Yugi had been challenged to by Troy grows ever so closer.
"You're still sure about that dual?" she asked him.
"Trust me, Mia, you have nothing to worry about. We will win. But for now, let's focus on getting you settled in, for you have come home,".
