Lost In Manhattan

Chapter I: I wanna see dad

It's been a 2 months since Shelly Meyers graduated high school. Shelly is a Brazilian, American girl. She's 18 years old, has long blonde hair, and her plans for the future is to become a model or become a song writer for her best friend Nylee Rainer, who wants to be a singer. Shelly always wored revealing clothing, lipstick, and she never once had a pimple in her life. She spoke 3 languages, they were english, spanish and Portuguese.
She is the most attractive and most beautiful person in her age group. Almost every guy in high school loved this young woman. Everyone loved her, not just because of her looks. But the fact that she was so smart, polite and fun. The sad part about her is that she hasn't seen her dad since she was 10 years old, do to the fact that her parents got divorced 8 years ago.
Shelly and her mom live in Great falls, Montana. They both lived in a medium size wooden house.

Anyway, Shelly comes back home after an exhausting day from work and throws her bag on her bed. Her mom later calls her down stairs for dinner.

Mom- "Shelly, come down. Dinner's ready."

Shelly was in her room texting her friends in a group chat and taking selfies on Snapchat.

Shelly- "Coming mom."

She slides down the stair rail and lands on the floor perfectly. Her mom saw her coming.

Shelly's dog Frost goes up to her and begs for her food. Shelly's mom turns around looking at a picture of the family then Shelly gives a piece of meat to Frost quickly and silently. Then her mom turns around seeing Frost walk away to his bed with a piece of meat in his mouth.

Mom- "Did he just take one of your..."

Shelly- ".... I don't know what you're talking about. (Continues eating)"

Mom- "....huh....."

Later when the night came by, Shelly is in her room texting her friends in a group chat just sending pics of her making pretty; funny poses and faces. She sent a selfie of her saying "I finished high school!!!😂😝😆😇". She then gets some laughing emojis and positive funny texts from her friends. She puts a smile on her face.

Mom- "Shelly, I'm going to the store. I'll be back."

Shelly raises her voice from upstairs to make sure her mom hears her talking.

Shelly-"Yeah mom ok."

Shelly's phone vibrates and the screen saying "Battery critically low- 3%".

Shelly- "Shit." (Mumbled)

She goes to her mom's room because she left her charger in one of her drawers. When she opened one, she saw a bunch of unopened envelopes that some were sent years ago and were never returned. Shelly was curious of what they were and why they're here. So she took some of them to her room. She then organized the drawer the way it was and left to her room and closed the door.

It took a good solid 30 minutes to read most of the envelopes. Throughout all of the envelopes she read, she realizes they were all letters from her dad. He's been living in New York City for 8 years since the divorce. He said in some of his letters that he's being miserable and sending letters to his family wanting them back. Shelly hears the front door open from down stairs and quickly runs to the door with the envelopes to show to her mom. She drops the house keys.
