Readers are AWESOME. Better than chocolate, rum and kombucha (and if you know me, you know I'm all over those).Especially when they're reading your story #truthtea.
So, HALL OF FAME will always have a soft spot in my heart because a) it's the first full novel I was able to write in years, b) even now I still love it and c) it was the first full novel that I posted on here. This is why my HOF readers are near and dear to my heart.
Here's the thing, we talk a big game about awards for writers. The Wattys, The Fiction Awards, etc. Those are all amazing, super fun and nerve wracking to participate in, and great at giving you exposure to more readers who may connect with your stories. And that's really it, my frandos! Readers who connect with your art are so, so precious, and in my opinion don't get enough love and appreciation. We tend to take them for granted.
I posted the last chapter of HOF on July 5th 2018. There were a few readers who stuck around since the first post on January 7th and a few who came along the way. They voted, gave me lovely comments and messages, and all around brightened my day every time I updated.
And so I decided to create an award for the most loyal and engaged readers throughout HOF's publication, in the form of two cute buttons that they can show off on social media if they want! Just a token of a very appreciative author.
Thus this rant is dedicated to, in no particular order:
This is for you, guys! THANK YOU for believing in this newcomer and liking my story!!!
(Santiago and Peyton think you all are the MVPs.)
