3. Forgive and Forget?
No. No it can’t be, Dennis is not coming back here again after all those years. No, it can’t be. Dylan’s mind was occupied for the whole of today; she was not even bothered about the loud wolf whistles that filled the hallway whenever she walked past.
“Dylan! Dylan! Dylan Alicia Everetts!!!” Seraphina called down the hallway. Dylan instinctively turned to the source of her name and saw a flushed Seraphina huffing angrily 20 feet away. Seraphina has auburn hair and misty grey eyes; she was pretty in the way that could make guys stare unblinkingly at her. As Seraphina stalked towards Dylan, Dylan couldn’t help but laugh at her wild hair that was sent flying in every direction as she was chasing Dylan down the hallway.
“I totally can’t believe you! Haven’t you heard me calling you a few hallways down?!” Seraphina lamented. Then, she took one look at Dylan and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Dylan, still shocked by the entire Dennis-is-returning-soon-and-meeting-me-in-the-afternoon thing, blurted, “He’s back.”
A wide eyed Seraphina tugged on Dylan's arm and said, “We need to talk, let’s go.” Dylan knew that that meant finding Louise and Alice and have a nice little chat on Dennis. Her friends knew everything about Dennis and the how ‘kind’ he had been to her.
They found Alice and Louise at the back garden, which was the most crowded place during morning breaks, ogling at some hot transfer students. Dylan cringed internally as she hates crowded places, especially which lots of her ‘personal fan girls’ within close view.
“Looks like ‘Dylanicious’ was waiting all morning.” Seraphina pointed out, silently chuckling. She knew how well Dylan hated her so-called fan club of hers. There were around seventy people in ‘Dylanicious’; made up of sophomores, juniors and even seniors. Those who admire and envy Dylan for her killer-looks and wits joined the club, the members increased significantly every year. Most of the members were juniors but there were a number of seniors too, the number of boys and girls were forever overwhelming and the numbers were steeping.
“Immature.” Dylan sighed and rolled her eyes, obviously hating all that unwanted attention.
“Come on, lets stop Louise and Alice before their eyes pop out from all that ogling.” Seraphina stated in a flat tone. She and Dylan made it a point never to admire the boys or show that they are better than girls.
“I’m amazed that the backs of those guys haven’t burn a hole from their intense gaze.” Dylan replied, tugging Seraphina to their direction. Alice and Louise were sprawled on the benches drooling, literally, at those boys. The boys were obviously basking under all that attention. Dylan didn’t understand why her two friends have to be like that, ogling over boys, that is. They were pretty. Alice has short dark brown hair and green eyes; she didn’t look all that ugly. She was tall, 5’9, and had long tan limbs that lots of girls wanted. Louise, on the other hand was shorter, she was 5’4 and had blond hair and mocha eyes. Her lips were pout and she was fair. Both her friends were definitely pretty enough to not drool over guys.
“Shut that mouth, girl. Your saliva is pooling on the floor already.” Dylan half-giggled, half-scolded Alice. Almost immediately, Alice snapped her mouth shut and swiveled around to face Dylan.
“Whoa, when did you arrive?!” Alice asked, startled.
“When have you guys ever been aware of your surroundings whenever a cute guy comes within staring range?” Dylan shot back and smirked. As if on cue, a long low wolf whistle came from the crowd of boys. Louise pouted and whined, “Why doesn’t that ever happen to us?”
