Chapter 11

Megan

'I don't know how to say how sorry I am,' Rosie said, ignoring my groans and lifting the covers of my bed, crawling in beside me.

'And I don't know how to tell you that it's not your fault. It was coincidence, nothing more,' I said back, turning to face her. 'You didn't force me to come to the concert last night.'

'Still, I asked. And if you hadn't have come, then you wouldn't have seen him-'

'Please stop worrying, Rosie. In a way, it was a good thing. It felt like closure.' Rosie looked at me with disbelieving eyes, her eyebrows raised. I sighed.

'Really?'

'No...' I whined, tears threatening to pour out. It had hurt so much to see Ashton last night, standing there with another girl whilst my heart fell out onto the floor. Rosie leant in and hugged me, her small arms wrapped around my shoulders.

'It's OK. Meg, it's going to be OK,' she whispered to me, but the tears continued to fall.

'Hey, hey! Anyone- oh, hello! What's going on here-?' we both looked up to see Harry standing in the doorway to my bedroom, dressed all in black with the key to our suite in his hand. He had a stupid grin on his face that all men wore whenever two girls were involved. I just rolled my eyes and buried myself further under the duvet.

'I thought you weren't coming until eleven?' Rosie said, moving away and getting out of the bed.

'It is eleven babe,' Harry answered, kissing her cheek. He sat down on the bed and poked my leg. 'Everything alright Meggy?'

I just made a noise that sounded like 'go away', but he didn't hear me. Rosie whispered something in his ear and his face immediately dropped, taking on a concerned expression.

'Shit, sorry. You wanna come with me and Rosie to breakfast?' He asked. I just shook my head. 'You wanna be left alone?' This time I nodded. 'No problem. I'll wait for you outside,' he said to his girlfriend, giving her a parting kiss before disappearing out of the room.

'You sure you don't want to come? It might help take your mind off of things,' Rosie suggested, but I couldn't think of anything worse. I just wanted to stay in bed all day, order room service and mope. It was all I could do.

'I'll just see you later,' I said, my voice muffled under the covers.

'Sure. Want me to bring you back anything?'

'A time machine? Or something to make me forget the past two months?' I said sarcastically, and Rosie chuckled weakly.

'It will get better. I promise,' she said. I pulled the covers down and gave her a dry look.

'Sure, Miss Loved-Up.'

'Yeah, but don't forget about Jake. I had to go through all that heartbreak before finding Harry,' she said, smiling at the mention of her boyfriend. I groaned loudly and rolled my eyes again. They were so annoying.

'OK. So you are telling me its going to get worse before it gets better? Groundbreaking,' I said. Rosie smacked me playfully on the arm.

'Alright, Miss Sarcastic. I'll see you later. But please try to get outside, at least for a walk. It will do you good,' she said, waving as she headed out of the bedroom. I waved weakly back and then slumped back down onto the pillows, my dark hair fanning out around me.

A few hours later I was finally dressed and grabbing my purse, fulfilling my promise to Rosie by heading outside to grab a coffee before returning for a Transformers marathon.
