A Year and A Half Later...

The cameras swarmed around the double doors, the sounds of their owners echoing loudly in the cavernous room that was the arrivals section of the Sydney Airport.

Paparrazi and fans alike waited for the four boys who were scheduled to arrive off the plane in just a few minutes. The older men snapping photos for a living spoke in low, bored voices, sick of taking the same shots over and over again just to make ends meet, whilst the thousands of screaming girls shrieked and giggled at the thought of seeing their idols.

Megan could picture it all so vividly as she undid her seatbelt and stood up, grabbing her bag from the overhead compartment of the plane.

'You OK?' Ashton asked her. His fingers brushed against the bare skin of her hips, visible where her top had ridden up slightly. The touch still made her shiver pleasantly, so she leant down to kiss him quickly before slinging her bag over her shoulder.

'I'm fine. Why?'

'There's going to be a lot of people there waiting to see us,' Ashton reminded her, and she took his hand in hers as they headed towards the exit of the plane. In front of her Luke, Calum and Michael were all walking ahead, chatting amongst themselves.

'I know. But I have you, so I'll be fine.'

Ashton's face broke out into a big smile, and he pulled her back so his chest was pressed against her, his arms circling around her waist as he hugged her from behind.

'I love you.'

'I love you too. Now, let go of me so we can get off this damn plane. Your family are expecting us soon, and we don't want to be late.'

'Ah yes. I wouldn't want my Mum and my girlfriend mad at me. You guys gang up on me together enough as it is,' Ashton teased. In truth, he loved the fact that his mother and Megan got on so well, and his siblings loved her too.

'Be thankful your mum likes me. It means you get away with a lot more...' Megan said, smiling into the kiss she pressed on Ashton's cheek.

'Yo, lovebirds! You coming or not?' Luke shouted down the plane, waving his hands towards them. They both smiled and flipped the bird simultaneously towards him, only making him chuckle.

'Time to face the music,' Megan whispered to Ashton, who took her hand and squeezed it in response.

They headed off the plane together hand in hand, heading through the security and out into the arrivals area. Just as Megan had predicted, it was jam packed with 5 Seconds of Summer fans and camera men, all talking photographs and screaming the guys names. There were a fair few shouts of Megan's name as well, and she and Ashton let go of each others hands to go and talk to the fans.

'Hi,' Megan said, smiling widely. She had been doing that a lot lately, ever since she and Ashton had been together. She was no longer known as the 'sulky one', or 'the moody one'.

She was happy. There hadn't been anymore nightmares or panic attacks in nearly two years, and she had finally come out of her shell enough for people to see the real her. All thanks to a certain Australian drummer.

'How are you guys?' she asked the fans.

'Oh my, god!' the girls were screaming, over and over again. Megan laughed, hugging the ones closest to her, and posing for photos as long as she could.

'I'm so happy you and Ashton are together,' one fan gushed, and Megan smiled back her.

'Thank you, so am I. Hey,' she said, grinning when Ashton appeared at her side, making the fans go even crazier. A few lucky fans were able to get a photo with both of them before they moved on, linking hands once again.

'You know, you've gotten pretty good at that,' Ashton said over the noise, pulling her closer.

'What's that?'

'Being with the fans, posing for photos- that sort of thing,' he answered.

Megan shrugged as she waved at a few fans before turning back to her boyfriend. Everytime she looked at him, she couldnt believe that they were still together, still happy, over a year later. For someone who had sworn off relationships long ago, they were doing alright. Better than alright, really.

'Yeah, but I have something that is very helpful in these situations.'

'What's that?' Ashton asked.

'You.'

Megan laughed as Ashton shook his head and grinned, embarassed.

'You know, wasn't it in an airport when I said that to you?' he said, kissing her temple and sending the fans into even more of a frenzy.

'I believe it was. I also believe you told me something else that day,' Megan said, raising an eyebrow.

'I did? I wonder what that was...' Ashton answered, playing along. Megan bumped her hip against his and he laughed. 'Oh yeah. I love you.'

'That's right mister. And don't you forget it.'

'I wouldn't dream of it Miss Collins.'

'Good. Because I love you too.'

Author's Notes: And that's your lot, folks!! I really hope you've enjoyed the story, and have loved the characters as much as I have. They've been really fun to write, and I'm sad the story's finished now :( But you know me, and of course they will be featured in my other fan fictions.

I would never let them get away that easily :-)

But seriously...thank you so much for reading. I know I've fallen off the radar a lot recently and this story has been a stop/start kind of thing, but for those of you who stuck by it- thank you :)
