A horde of grey knights surrounding and overflowing the coliseum, cheered at the center of the setting, in which four familiar armored gentlemen, stood above a crew of defeated barbarians and thieves.
Blue, Red, Orange, and Green.
Ignis held his axe up high, Blizzard held his valuable ice sword down while he looked at the fire knight with his usual cold, lifeless glare, the electricity and poison knight standing still in the same spot with their weapons at hand.
The king clapped loudly, jumping off from his throne surrounded by four grey knights before making a "silence" gesture shortly after.
The crowd stopped cheering to watch what was coming up next on this training, probably one of the most exciting they had to see yet in the three more years that have passed by now.
"Since there are apparently not any barbarians left in this coliseum, maybe its time to raise up the stakes." paused the king before carrying on with his breathy voice, his long white beard moving up and down, "One of you will be the luckiest man to marry one of my daughters, Melissa!"
Massive hordes of cheering could be heard all around the spot, rooting or a different elemental cavalier each.
The greatest four took a spot each on a corner of the coliseum's battleground with weapons in hand."This is pretty simple." The king said, "You'll have to fight each other, but you won't kill each other."
"That's completely f- wait, each other?!" Vermont asked loudly, the king replying back with a chuckle.
"That is correct. Besides I know that you will do well, right red?"
Raymond nodded.
Blizzard didn't feel right about this situation quite yet, something in his gut told him this would go horribly wrong. Mostly regarding the red Knight.
Before he could reach a conclusion, a loud blaring of a horn snapped him out of it.
The electricity knight without any hesitation, charged against the ice cavalier with a rough growl at the bottom of his lungs. He swung the mace aiming at the ice knight's chest, who blocked the hit with his blue shield rapidly.
Swinging his mace several times denting the sapphire blue shield, Raymond kept on swinging its weapon, while Blizzard backed off slowly blocking hit by hit.
Until he was cornered. In the meantime, the poison and fire cavaliers looked at each other in confusion. Normally the electricity knight was not this eager to fight, until they remembered when Blizzard explained the king about the decisions Raymond took. This wasn't going to end well for sure if nothing stopped this.
Before Raymond could actually harm Blizzard, The flame and toxicity knights ran and pulled the red Knight's arms to stop him.
"What the hell?!" Barked Red, squirming to get off their grip. "I am not done with this moron yet!"
"Enough is enough!" growled the fire knight, "We know why you're into the fight, and we aren't dealing with that!"
The crowd was looking at this in confusion and dissapointment, some of the people even booed nonetheless.
Signaling everyone to be quiet, the king spoke up. "It seems it is a draw...but maybe my sweetheart can choose who to marry." He turned around to face a grey knight, signaling him to bring the lady.
Nodding, the grey knight marched away to the castle.
The king spoke in his breathy old voice once more. "Red, I see you are still mad. But you have to let go of such ridiculous reasons to be angry. I thought that you learned your lesson."
"Of course." Raymond spat. "Now it is MY fault I wanted to defend my position, is that true?"
"You clearly know it's not that. The choices you are taking are leading you to-"
"I AM your second hand!" He yelled. "I know what is best for this kingdom as much as you do. Hell, probably even better!"
The crowd gasped, followed by the green, blue and orange cavaliers glaring at him, Orange making a 'zip it' gesture.
But this didn't stop the thunder knight. He kept speaking in this harsh manner with his gravelly, low voice as he stomped forward. "I am the one in charge for these recruits, and you chose me because of my leading ability. Even THEY know it, and I know what is best for this kingdom!"
"Raymond! " The king called out, his big, white eyebrows forming a line, "You are not leaving me any choice, but me taking your rank away. You are such a disrespectful individual, and thou has smudged the title of 'second hand'."
The coliseum went dead silent.
Opening his eyes wide, holding the mace tighter, Raymond slowly frowned, to shortly turn around and storm off the coliseum, tossing his mace to the ground. The poison knight ran after him, leaving the fire and ice knights alone in the center of the coliseum.
The crowd awkwardly stayed on its seats, wondering what in the devil's name just happened.
Sighing, the king brought a gloved hand upon his face. "I guess just the two of you are left.""Your majesty," added the ice cavalier, "My comrade can keep her. This has been an exhausting day to say the less."
Vermont scratched the back of his head, with a small tint of pink blush peeking through the helmet ready to deny the offer, but before he could say anything, one of the king's helpers that had left for a brief amount of time sprinted back to the throne.
"Your highness!" He could barely breath or talk in his hoarse voice "They-" He swiped up his masque, wavy short black hair blocking his eyes and dark skin tone. "Your royalnesses are nowhere to be seen. I looked in every corner of the castle. None of them."
Everyone in the crowd turned their heads towards the king's throne.
Startled, the king nervously chuckled.
"Son... T-they are in their royal room, are you sure you already searched there?""Yes, your majesty. They are nowhere to be seen."
"The royal dining room?!"
"It's empty."
"What about the royal garden?!"
"Your highness," The grey Knight emphasized irritated, "They are nowhere to be found in the castle!"
