my
loneliness is
almost
tangible;
i can
touch it,
if i wanted to.

it sits there
on the highest
shelf
in my
bedroom,
staring
down at
me,
watching
and
waiting
for the moment
when i
break
so it can
clamber down
and sit
beside me
and give me
the comfort
it knows
no one else
can
provide.
