"You seemed off today, do you want to tell me what's going on?" He leaned in the doorway, a keen smirk on his face. She wrapped her arms tightly around herself in surprise, turning to see one of her closest friends standing in her doorway.
"It's...not much, don't worry," she smiled, rather unconvincingly. He removed himself from her doorframe, coming to sit down on the side of her bed. Reluctantly she smoothed her nightgown and sat down next to him, slouching and letting out a long sigh. Her actions, very unladylike, but in the good company of a friend.
"You know what come next in our lives. Lady Stark, your mother," she began earnestly. Immediately his face fell into concentration, watching her lips curl around each word and the conflict cross her face. "Well, she keeps mentioning that soon it will be time for each of us to marry. I can't help thinking, I'm rather forward with my convictions...and I can swing a sword, and I can't embroider very well. What ever husband would I want that would disapprove of such things? And yet I will have to marry someone." Her words became more and more strained as she struggled with the fear of inadequacy. "What ever husband would want me?" Practically choking on the words, her gaze remained firmly on the wall in front of her. Her companion on the other hand was staring at her side profile with a longing she couldn't understand at the moment.
"I would."
