THE DOTHRAKI were a powerful people. Some form of strength rested in their men's shoulders and in the women's minds, but some might say they were...uncivilized. You had come with the young lord of your region to perhaps teach the Dothraki a thing or two about structure, in return your lord companion would ask for their aid in furthering the reaches under his father's control. You were requested to come because you could speak the language and quickly connected with the people there. The Khal had taken a particular liking to the way you spoke to him and held your advice in high regard.
Months of building a bond with the people, and the young lord asking you to be his mouthpiece from time to time. He had finally decided it was time to ask the favor of the Dothraki. At a feast one day you translated for each of them, keeping the discussion diplomatic. You paused, taken aback by the demands Khal Drogo had set out for providing some of his men to your lord.
"What did he say?" The young man sitting next to you asked impatiently.
"He...wants me to stay behind...to marry him...to teach him more of what I know." You looked to the Khal again. He stood, unperturbed, looking expectantly down at you. Noticing your confusion he murmured another sentence in Dothraki to you. Directly it translated to "you will be treated as a man", but you understood his meaning, he would respect you and your opinions. Always.
"Do this for our kingdom, please-" the lord began, little did he know, you were more than happy to comply.
"Without question," you interrupted, turning to smile up at the Khal. You gave him a small nod of approval and he offered you his hand. The two of you walked hand in hand through the crowd of his people, looking like the fiercest rulers the Dothraki had ever seen. ——— WORD COUNT 329
