"Well, I was thinking maybe..."
What was she going to say? Black Star wondered. After all this time, was she going to say she liked him back? Would his small ego-filled world be turned around?

He put his hands on her shoulders and pulled her in. "I like you, Maka-sama, and I told you because I want you to accept me."

"I like her too."

Chapter 3 - The Giant Spider
What was this date supposed to turn out to be? Was all you could wonder. You could guess, of course. But it never really occurred to you that Kid was a genuinely nice boyfriend, or that he, in fact, would spend a decent amount of money on you. But, he was Lord Death's son, so it made sense.
But still, Chris' father was quite rich and yet he was very cheap.
You fixed your hair for the thousandth time as Chris, eating his apple very loudly, looked at you with his emerald green eyes and said, "Why do you look so fancy? It's only a study date, isn't it?" From what he knew, that was true, from the information you gave him, that was true. But, it wasn't. If anything, it was a lie. Maybe a half-lie.
You didn't know why you didn't tell Chris, your more-than-best-friend-yet-more-than-brother the truth, but it wasn't anything that he would've likedto know. He hated drama as much as the next guy, but was prone to it. So, just this once, you kept him away from the drama, and into what he liked to call 'The Chris Anti-Drama Zone'. Seemed legit, but he and Soul classified stupid names for stupid things as 'Cool'.
Boys were weird, but very attractive.
"Um, yes. But, Kid's taking me out for dinner afterwards." Might as well sprinkle some more truth in there. "Wait, what?" He said and stood quickly, his slim figure straightening like a pulledback ruler. He grabbed a pan you cooked with and swung the open air. "I will let no drama in my 'Drama Free Zone'." He said as you rolled your eyes. "Whatever, Chris. Just a little dinner, its not like I'm going to date him then break up with him and date Maka afterwards."
"Hey, no, Maka's mine." He stepped forward with a threat and set the pan down slightly. You laughed sarcastically. "Yeah, okay, what did you say when she rejected you?" You leaned back on your left leg, and crossed your arms. Giving him the sassy look usually found in American movies. "She didn't reject me, she said she would think about it. Besides who can resist this beautiful face?"
"Asuna Yuuki, grade 7. You asked her out and she acted as if you were invisible for the next week."
"Oh yeah. Wasn't she in that video game problem and met that guy, Kazuto Kirigaya? I heard he ended it."
You merely shrug. "Real-life problems aren't my thing. I only care when Attack on Titan updates a manga chapter." He chuckled and shook his head, sitting back in his seat, eating his glossy red apple, very loudly. "Whatever. Have fun on your date." He said it so simply, even though just a few minutes ago he was swatting away drama with a pan you fried eggs in.
You went to the door as you heard what sounded like 8 knocks. You waited for each one, knowing the time, indicating it was Kid.
You opened the door and there he was. He wasn't wearing his usual black suit with its skull tie, but a black vest over a yellow shirt and black skinny jeans. He wore normal black converse with decorative black lines, three of them, on the side. His outfit was perfectly symmetrical, which was something you didn't not expect.
