I watch my friends go around the world through Snapchat this summer.
As I sit home and watch my grandma get weaker
And my life fall apart once again.
I promise, I'm not a stalker.
They just have their location sharing on.
They go to Europe and Florida,
The Midwest and Venice.
Cape Cod and South Korea
Iceland, Russia, and Scotland.
I went to McDonalds at 1 am to get a bacon egg and cheese for dinner.
While they were going to concerts and parties
I was replaying Sam Smith through my earbuds and budget planning.
I watched the world get burning hot in July
And become so humid early August it felt like we were underwater.
I watched the rains come for days at a time,
Washing this place of everyone's mistakes
While flooding the roads.
And it looks like they can't get to those parties now, huh?
