Is it normal to feel this way?

Lost and very out of place?

Have you ever had those days

Where you can't see where you're going?

Everything may be blind, but I'm sure I'm falling

Where are you in this large old town?

Why won't the voices in my head just go away?

They have to be lying, you're still here,

Right? Don't worry, I know it's just a dream.

Didn't you tell me you were coming home?

Another moon has passed and still no news

And suddenly the darkness becomes a little darker

Why won't you just come back home?

Why won't they leave me alone?

The kids in my school are making fun of me-

Can't you come home and stop their howls?

Everything is crumbling, falling into pieces,

Now that you're gone and further than you used to be.

What did I do wrong to upset you?

Please, could you come home now?

[STOP HERE IF YOU WANT]

For I wish I could find you like you found my sound.

Well, you can analyze it any way you want, but personally, to me, this poem is about a child or teenager (the persona!) whose mother or father dies without any warning. The persona is left hurt and confused, unable to believe that his or her parent(s) is/are gone, and is so lost she starts to spiral into a dark depression.

Because of that, the people in her (I'm just going to say her because I think she would be a her) school start making fun of her at her inability to accept that her parent figure was gone and she begins to doubt herself as the voices in her head start getting louder and louder than they used to be.
