"Wow, that's a wonderful decision. I am so happy for you." Sarah coos from the other side of the table as I prepare scrambled eggs for Evan. "Although, you will be moving away and I won't get to see you as much as I do now, I think that's a perfect decision for you both."
"I know. I mean, I hadn't really given it a much thought but since last night, I can't stop thinking about a nice cozy place where we would spend the rest of our lives." I say giddily.
"So, when are you telling your father?"
"I don't know. I mean we haven't even looked for places. I don't want to say until anything is for sure. Why upset him over nothing?"
She scoffs. "You know your father. He will be sad to see you go but he won't be upset because of the decision you two have taken. This might be the best thing you have ever decided. Trust me, if he hadn't too many sentimental values with that home, he would have been the first one to move from this area."
I let out a small chuckle because she is correct. Dad can be over-sentimental regarding certain things like our house. He had been living there since forever. That was the place where he brought mom after marrying, where I grew up and the place where he married Sarah as well. This place does have many sweet and bitter memories of our lives so I understand that it is difficult for him to move.
To be honest, I am scared to leave this place. Evan and I had many memories in this small house of ours where each and every corner is coated with a sweet story of its own. It is hard to leave a place with such a strong emotional attachment but time demands change and one needs to move according to the time. As much as connected we are to this place, it is time for us to move on to the next phase of our life and create new memories.
Evan walks in then, wearing a white vest, plain blue shirt and loose jeans and the first thing he does is greets Sarah, giving her a small hug. I have already prepared his plate and as I pour him a glass of orange juice, he flashes a beautiful smile, placing a soft kiss in my left cheek. "Good morning." He murmurs.
"Good morning." I murmur back. He takes his usual seat and I sit beside him as we launch into a conversation of where we should look for a nice place. Sarah has several ideas on good neighborhood in this town but I don't want to move too far. I want a place that is in a measurable distance to dad, James, gallery and Evan's café.
"But, it is hard to find a place so nearby." Sarah comments.
Evan nods. "It is hard but not impossible. If you want I will hire a realtor because I don't think we can search a place on our own given our work schedule."
I agree with him and Sarah gives us a number of her friends that works in the same line. After breakfast, Evan talks to the person, fixing an appointment in the afternoon and disconnects the call. "She says she has some places in her mind but she needs us to give her some specific on the kind of place we are looking for. I told her we would come by her office in the afternoon. Is that okay with you?"
