[FIVE]

WANT YOU BACK.

for once in a long time, i woke up with a smile on my face. i smiled as i looked at daniel's picture on my phone's lock screen.. i squealed a little, when i thought that i could see him once again today. i got up my bed and made my way to the bathroom.

"ahh!" i yelled as i bumped into someone. i recognized jack's laughs and i smiled.

"sorry, i also live in this house. you should get used to see me here." jack said.

"i'm sorry, i just completely forgot that i stayed here last night." i shook my head. and he chuckled. "your bed is really comfy, by the way."

"i know." he replied, flipping his curly hair.

i walked in the bathroom and got ready. after taking practically an hour long shower (i was thinking during this whole time), i chose my outfit for the day. i opted for black skinny jeans and the invitation tour white t-shirt.

i got out of jack's bedroom and ran down the stairs as soon as the smell of pancakes being made hit my nose. obviously, jonah was the one making dinner since he was the only who could. the other boys weren't that good cooks. but i couldn't judge since i also wasn't.

"good morning, maddie." jonah welcomed me before handing me a plate.

"good morning, jonah." i cheerfully said, after thanking him. "good morning boys." i greeted them once i sat down around the table with them

"woah, someone's in a good mood." corbyn said.

i only smiled to him and we all finished our pancakes, which were delicious by the way. jonah was an excellent cook.

then, the moment i've been waiting for so long finally came. i went to jack's room and slipped on my white vans. i was going to get out of the room but i was stopped by no one else than zach. he stayed in silence as he stared at me tears in his chocolate brown eyes. it was as if he had been frozen. he opened his mouth but nothing came out.

"what's up, zach?" i said and he deeply blushed, if it was even possible.

"it's just that, i-i...i wanted to say that i'm sorry." he stammered. "for snapping at you the other day. i said atrocious things and i'm really sorry about it, i don't know why i said all of that. and...and i regret it since but i thought you were mad at me and you wouldn't want to speak to me anymore. and i was just thinking of what could have happened, just because of me. i totally understand if you hate me right now. and i'm so sorry, you don't need to forgive. i just wanted you to know." he said, tears building up in his eyes.

"zach, please don't cry. this is in the past and i forgive you. i would never  hate you, you're one of my best friend." i smiled and he smiled to me through, his tears. i held him in my arms until i heard jack yell.

"zach, mad! we need to go!" we both let go and walked down the stairs. once we were down, jack weirdly stared at zach. "you alright, bro?" he asked and zach just nodded, quickly wiping away his tears.

we all got in the car and jonah was the one driving, since i didn't had my license, no one trusted zach and jack to drive and corbyn didn't want to. we quickly reached the hospital and my whole face lightened up.

for once, i was happy to go there.  we all got out of the car and walked in the hospital. jonah talked to the lady at the counter and she told us to wait in the waiting room until the nurse came. the waiting was only a 15 minutes one but it was enough to make me really impatient.

flashbacks of the day when daniel and i came here flashed in my mind. It was before the whole 'meredith had a miscarriage'  thing.

"do you think it's a guy or a gal?" i asked him.
"it's a baby boy obviously." he said.
"pretty sure it's a baby girl." i responded. "my family only had one boy, so there are a lot of chances that it's a girl. 99%."
"yep, but there's still 1% that's it's boy. " daniel said as he took a can of sprite in the vending machine. "want some?"
"i'm good, thanks." i said as he sat back down next to me.

"so, i wanted to talk to you about last ni—"he started off but got interrupted.
"meredith? where is meredith?" a blond guy asked, i assumed he was greg. he was all in sweat and tears.

"sir, you need to register first." a lady who worked at the hospital said.
"i'm here for meredith hills, can i see her?" he asked.
"unfortunately, mrs. hills is in the emergency room. she can't receive any visits." the lady answered.

"bullshit! i'm her fiancé and i need to see her, now!" he shouted.
"okay, calm down sir. follow me to this room. we'll wait for her there." the lady took greg to another room and daniel and i stayed there, in silence.

poor guy, all he wanted was to see his apparently fiancée. i started to feel a little bit nervous. meredith had been took to the emergency room. was it a normal thing?

i felt this weird feeling inside of me. like something bad was happening. i knew her baby  was early...he wasn't supposed to come this month. this wasn't good.

"what are you thinking about?" daniel asked me, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"everything. about all of this, dani." i said. "what if...what if the baby doesn't survive?" i asked, tears in my eyes.
"why would you think about that." daniel said softly. "the baby will be fine."
"but he's like 2 months early. and meredith was bleeding so much." i sighed, looking down.
"hey, everything's going to be alright. meredith is fine and so is the baby." daniel told me.

a small smile crept on my lips, it seemed such a long time ago but it wasn't. this past week has been hard, i normally always had daniel with me to calm me down but this time, i didn't. that's what made it so hard.

"anyone here for mr. seavey?" a lady asked and we all got up. "he's awake. which one of you is going first?" she smiled and i resisted the urge to jump up and down.

we all looked at each other, not knowing who should go in first. the boys all motioned to me so i did. i followed the nurse to his hospital room.

"before you get in, getting out of a coma takes a lot of time to recover from. happily, mr. seavey is one of the special case. we did some tests, he still reacts to everything. he can talk, walking will maybe be one problem but we have crutches for him. he seems to remember most things but he could sometime not remember one event, which will sometime might be frustrating for you but he'll remember one day. we already tried and  he does not remember anything from the accident. i think that's all you need to know, we'll hand papers to one of your friend in the waiting room so you can take care of him in the right way and not forget to take him to the doctor so we can check up on his recovery." she explained and i nodded. "you can go in, now."

i took a deep breath and walked in the hospital room. there he was, peacefully laying on his bed. i kneeled down and smiled at him.

"daniel?" i said, my voice shaking. his head turned to me and i finally saw his beautiful blue eyes again. a sob escaped my mouth as i watched him there. "i missed you so much."

he stared at me for a while, looking rather confused. I started to question myself if he could really talk like the nurse had told me earlier. it looked like he couldn't even say anything.

"i'm sorry, but who are you?" he asked and my eyes widened.

please tell me this is a joke...
