Note: this is a bunch of filler while I think of what to do with the plot next *totally not panicking*

Lance sat on Pidge's clinch in her basement, Hunk beside him, and Pidge on the floor, a controller in her hand, her eyes glued to the tv screen. She was playing some Nintendo game that Lance was too angry to pay attention to. He was still thinking about Keith, and how he'd brushed Lance off I. The broom closet earlier that day.

"So, the Lions have a game in two weeks and you have to do good. Like, better then you've ever done," Hunk said, drawing Lance's attention, "there's gonna be people there that can give out scholarships and this could be a huge chance for you."

"Yeah," Lance said absently "yeah, I'll do my best." He waved a hand at Hunk.

"Really? That's it? Dude, you have to try. Do you know how proud your mom would be if you got a scholarship? She'd forgive all your mistakes, and you've made a lot," Pidge pipped up from the floor.

"Shut it, Luigi," Lance said jokingly, "I know how important it is. And I'll do my best. I'm just a little...distracted." He crosses his arms over his chest, looking at the wall.

"Distracted?" Pidge and Hunk gave each other a look as Pidge continued "with your man-crush again? I've told you, he's a lone wolf. He'll never give in to your attempts at getting close." She shook her head, muttering something when she died in the game that could've been a curse.

"I have to at least try. Right? If we're at least friends, then it's worth it." Lance had given up denying it the second week Keith had gone to the Garrison. They'd known when Lance had invited him to ice cream, which he hadn't done for anyone. It was his thing with Pidge, Hunk, and no one else. Plus they had seen the way Lance had looked after Keith had skated away, smiling and lazily saluting.

"You're not gonna be friends. He's gonna continue pushing you away until high school is over, and then we'll all go off to different collages and you'll never see him again." Pidge threw down the controller, after she died again. She got frustrated with these things easily.

Lance frowned down at her, "you really think so?" It was very disheartening to hear it from her.

Pidge nodded, but Hunk said "No! She's just trying to scare you. Keith will warm up to you, you just have to be patient. Some people take a while to become friends and open up."

Pidge rolled her eyes, "on a happier note then Lance's sad love life, I got a new camera. You two wanna go to the park and test it out?" She smiled, the type she got when she was excited.

Lance sighed, trying to forget Keith, "sure," he said "let's go."

The tv's light was bright in the room, since all the other lights were shut off. Shiro sat on the couch beside Adam, his feet up on the coffee table and his arm thrown over the back of the couch. Some sitcom show was on, but Shiro couldn't pay attention.

Adam looked at him, frowning, "Keith is fine. He can take care of himself. Besides, what kind of trouble can he get in that's so bad in this tiny town?" He waved his hand.

Shiro frowned back, sighing and sitting up, pausing the tv, "I know, but I'm still worried. He's a city kid, he can get into all types of trouble. I don't think this town has seen anything like him before." He folded a leg under himself, distracting himself by petting  Sky—who was sitting between Adam and him.

"He can handle himself," Adam stood, holding out his hand. Shiro took it and let himself be pulled to his feet. "You're tired. Come to bed," he smiled sadly. Adam was always worrying about Shiro, especially after what had happened with his arm.

Adam walked backwards down the hallway, leading Shiro who closed his eyes and hung his head in exhaustion. He was very tired, he had to admit. He could feel the tension in his shoulders from where stressed formed knots. Work had been particularly heavy the past week and Keith had been extra quiet. Adam was the most solid thing in his life at the moment. Shiro hopes he could think of some way to thank him.

Adam sat Shiro down, then pushed him so he was laying. He tucked the blankets around him so he was nice and warm. Then he climbed into bed beside him, hugging Shiro and kissing his forehead gently.

"Sleep," he said softly, "you know I'll always be here to help you through things. You can count on that." His words were calming. Shiro closed his eyes, wrapping his arms around Adam.

"I love you," he mumbled, his words slurred from tiredness. He could tell that Adam smiled.

"I love you too."

Note: that turned out a lot nicer then I had thought it would. Next chapter will either be more filler or stuff about the plot. I'll see how creative I'm feeling. Hopefully I'm feeling creative :')
