ZhengTing woke up from a deep slumber as loud knocks sounded on the door of his apartment, startling him to death.
"Who on earth would it be at this hour?" ZhengTing grumbled as he dragged himself out of bed. He yawned and stretched his limbs as he went to answer the door, the continuous knocking acted like an alarm that wouldn't snooze until he was fully awake.
Without looking through the peephole, ZhengTing pulled the door open revealing his neighbor, dressed and ready for the day.
"Umm," ZhengTing stared at her weirdly, he was standing in his pajamas and messy bed hair while she looked like she woke up hours ago.
"Good morning," she greeted him shortly then walked past him to the living room, not sparing the confused boy a single glance. ZhengTing followed her hesitantly as she plopped on the couch and pulled her phone out.
"I don't remember-"
"What's your WiFi password?" Meirong looked up from her phone at him, interrupting him and making him remember their past deal.
"I don't think we agreed on you using the internet this early," he crossed his arms and faced her, trying to hide the fact that he'd drop in exhaustion any second now.
"I usually wake up this early so deal with it," she said, "besides, it's your fault I don't have internet, not mine."
ZhengTing glared at her furiously, to which she smiled at him sarcastically. Their little staring contest was soon over when ZhengTing decided to give up, "fine, I'll give you the password but please, don't disturb me."
"I won't," Meirong smiled like a child receiving candy as she handed him her phone, barely waiting to get access to the internet.
ZhengTing sighed as he took her phone and connected her to the internet, a small part of him felt like he'll be regretting ever letting her use his WiFi.
"Thank you so much!" Meirong grinned as she took her phone back, finally being able to connect to the outer world.
ZhengTing looked at her with a scoff as she pulled out her earphones and went quiet, intently watching something on her phone.
How does she even live alone? He shook his head as he went back to his room in hopes of gaining more sleep.
But the thought of a stranger in his place didn't let him sleep. He shifted in his bed until he decided it was of no use, he better start preparing for the day ahead.
Standing up again, ZhengTing went to check up on the girl, which to his surprise, was still in the same spot he left her in. ZhengTing tut-tutted as he went to wash up, people of this century.
He finished washing up and changed into casual clothes, mentally cursing at himself for being up this early. He dried his hair and fixed his appearance, checking himself out in the mirror before stepping out of his room.
He wasn't surprised when he saw his neighbor glued to her position, her eyes never leaving the tiny screen in front of her. Shrugging, he walked past her to the kitchen, thinking of something to make for breakfast.
Since he woke up earlier than usual, he had plenty of time to make himself a hearty breakfast, something he didn't have for a while.
Realizing he was too lazy, ZhengTing settled for some cereal as he stepped into his open kitchen. He ate his simple breakfast alone, stealing glances at the girl who barged into his apartment. Now that she wasn't glaring at him evilly, ZhengTing could see her facial features clearly.
