"All I'm saying is that, yes, I have an A but compared to other schools I'm just not competitive, ya know?" Jaime and Dallas had been rambling on for the entirety of the 47 minute class period.
"Yeah I guess I understand, Ive looked into some schools and I just can't figure out where I can take the SAT here."
The bell echoed through the room, signaling Jaime and Dallas to leave the overcrowded room. The pair hopped down the stairs when the familiar screech of the intercom shattered eardrums.
"As of today, Southside High is closed. Please refer to the lists in the main hallway for which school you will be transferring to. That is all."
Jaime grabbed Dallas' shoulder, a wide smile on his face. "Dal! We're getting the fuck out of here. Come on we have to find out where we're going."
Jaime didn't allow Dallas to respond, he was already pulling her down the hallway where a large crowd was already gathered. Jaime had a firm hold on Dallas' sleeve, careful not to lose her.
"Right here, Jamison Hardy, Riverdale High, yes!" Jaime clapped his hands together tugging on his hood. "What about you kid?"
Dallas scanned the list looking for Wiley. Then there it was. "Me too! Riverdale High!"
Jaime took ahold of her shoulders and shook her. A loud laugh left his mouth, joy radiating off of him. "Im gonna get me the preppy boyfriend I've always wanted," he shouted, yanking the blonde into his arms.
"Boyfriend?" she asked.
"You knew I was gay right?" he chuckled.
"I do now," she smiled holding him at arms length.
"That's not gonna be a problem, right?" Jaimes eyes widened in fear. He couldn't stand losing the one person he actually enjoyed seeing everyday, truthfully his only friend.
"Of course not. I'm actually bi. Don't even worry about." Dallas smiled kissing Jaimes cheek before dashing off to find Sweet Pea and the rest of her friends. "I'll see you later JJ."
She trotted down the steps where Jughead, Toni, Fangs, Cassidy and most importantly Sweet Pea were.
"Dal! Can you believe this? We're all going to Riverdale High." Cassidy was shaking with every word.
Dallas smiled as the others excitedly chattered about. "We have to celebrate. Pops?" Sweet Pea yelled, yanking Dallas into his side, kissing the top of her head. Dallas forced a laugh, catching Jaimes eye. He didn't smile, he shook his head and rocked back and forth.
"Hold on guys, I'll be right back," Dallas said pulling out Sweets' all too excited grip. She crossed the street and stopped in front of Jaime.
"I saw the list Dallas. You aren't going to Riverdale High, are you?" he said.
Dallas turned her head away, scared that'd she'd cry if she looked at Jaime's face any longer.
"No, I'm not," Dallas admitted.
"You're going to Mason View, aren't you?"
"Yeah, I am."
Jaime looked over at her friends where a certain tall, dark haired boy was starring daggers at them. Well, only just until he saw the expression on Dallas' face. He softened and flicked his eyes back over to Jaime who nodded over to a shaking Dallas. Sweet Pea dashed away from the group with no explanations, jogging across the street.
"What's going on over here?" he asked.
Dallas sniffed definitively wiping away a stray tear. "Nothing. I'm fine. But while we're here. Sweets, this is my friend Jaime. Jaime, this is my boyfriend Sweet Pea."
