I sat there by there graves for a while. It was raining again but this time I found no joy in it. I just sat there, I wasn't moving or even thinking just simply being there.
I didn't want to think. If I did I would only be able to think of how fucked up my life was turning out.
I sighed and stood up to go inside. When I got there and looked around every thing there reminded me of my parents.
I couldn't take it, I began to think about all the years my parents had to look after me. All the years I had to miss out on.
What's even worse is now they are dead. I will never be able to make up for all the lost time.
I didn't want to remember, I wanted away from the suffocating memories of my parents. I turned and ran back out side.
I wasn't sure where I was going but I had to get away. I ran and ran till I came to a clearing with a slow moving stream.
Without bothering to catch my breath I marched over to it and knelt down to look.
I was greeted by my reflection. Still looking sixteen and not at all old in the slightest.
I did not want to see that, on impulse I threw my hand in the water and searched the bottom of the stream.
After a while I pulled out a decent sized rock. Quickly I raised it over leg. I wanted to feel something other than the sadness, grief, and confusion that currently had hold of me. Even if it was pain.
Right as I went to throw my hand down and jab the rock into my thigh, felt something hard hit my back.
I turned and saw a little girl standing there with a bag of apples. I looked down to see one behind me.
"Did you throw that at me?" I whispered at the girl in a daze
The girl lifted her chin as if she was proud of what she did
"Yes" She stated it in a matter of fact tone.
"Why" I sat there trying to understand why she would throw a perfectly fine looking apple at a stranger.
"I had to stop you dummy."she set the basket down and now her hands were placed on her hips.
I just looked at her. For a while that is all that happened she stood there trying to look cocky and I sat there looking at her in confusion.
" St-stop staring at me it's weird!" The little girl pouted in a rather adorable way
"So.... You wanna talk about why you were about to do THAT." The little girl asked
"No," I responded ",it's not something I can share."
"Here." I looked at the girl as she grabbed an apple from her bag and hold it out to me.
"Thanks uh..."
"Chi. My name is Chi." The girl looked at me evenly. Only then did I realize how hungry I was, but I didn't want to eat. It felt as if I shouldn't.
Chi noticed my lack of eating it and flicked my forehead.
"I know you are hungry because your stomach just let out a growl that would scare a wild animal so if you don't eat this i will shove it down your throat, miss! "
There she goes again with that sass. I decided to give in, I don't know why but I liked this little girl.
"So... Where do you live?" I asked trying to make conversation as we both munched on an apple.
"I can't tell you that, you're a stranger!"
"Oh okay sorry."
We sat there eating the apples till we heard some one started calling Chi's name.
"That's my mom, I have to go." I instantly felt my mood drop.
"Promise me something." I looked at Chi who know had a hopeful look on her face and gave in.
"Okay, what am I promising though?"
"You can't ever hurt yourself, don't think about don't try to, don't do it."
I felt my heart skip a beat. This little girl she seemed so young and so old all at the same time.
"HEY YOU SAID YOU PROMISED! SAY IT AGAIN SO I CAN LEAVE!" She scolded me, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I sighed well this kid is lucky she is so ever loving adorable.
"Fine, I promise." She smiled and waved goodbye with out saying anything to me. I watched her as she called to her mom and ranoff
