14 - Tears

I took a deep breath. Tears threatened to spill from my eyes as I gathered my thoughts.

"It all happened when I was sixteen." I glanced at Zeno.

"I was playing in the rain. And I got hit by strange lighting. I remember it hurt and after I passed out."

I paused to take in a breath of air. Zeno reached out and squeezed my hand, in hopes of comforting me.

Zeno's POV:

I watched as Yuri tried to calm herself down.

I felt bad. I was causing her to be upset. Not directly but still it was me who asked her something that she was obviously sensitive to.

I reached out and grabbed her hand, in hopes of comforting her.

"When I woke up... They... They were" She didn't finish.

She had started sobbing. I quickly pulled her into a hug. I felt her shake violently.

"Shhh" I rubbed her back as she sobbed.

After a while of her sobbing I couldn't wait any longer. I didn't want to seem rude but I HAD to know.

"Yuri, finish what you were saying. They were what?"

"They... THEY WERE OLD!" She sobbed even harder than before.

They were old... could that mean that she IS like me.

"They were old and I was still young looking!" She had finally stopped crying but her face was still wet with tears.

"I'm over sixty years old Zeno, yet I look sixteen." She looked down, tears were now streaming down her face again.

"So you don't age, you don't get sick, and when you get hurt you instantly heal."

I said more to my self than to her as I realized what this meant.

I wasn't alone.
