Nicoles POV-

I already missed her. It had been an hour since i left the house and already  i want to call her and hear her beautiful voice. I didnt though as i didnt want to show off any weakness. Instead i resorted to taking a picture out my pocket and examined it. The white edging was slightly tinted yellow with old age and it was slightly wrinkled. It was taken on our one month anniversary , she looked so cute that day, I remember it well. She wore a short dark navy dress and her hair was slightly curled, I had decided to cook her a fancy meal , I set up the table with candles and kept s dim light. Luckily the food was a delight but that had no importance compared to the stunning beauty that was Waverly.  She always looks perfect, I don't know how she does it. So,e of my favourite moments seeing her is in the morning when she has that adorable morning bed hair. I felt that emptiness inside me again, I wanted to be in Waverly arms again.

When the bus stopped it moved down slightly with a loud clunk. I stood up and threw my backpack over my shoulder and  walked off. My boots hit the firm ground and I took in the surroundings. We were inside a large cordoned off area, trainees were jogging or chatting in groups. I could hear shouting in the background and many footsteps from various areas. I fell into formation with the other women .

"Attention!" A booming voice came from in-front. We all stood at attention at once , our body's tense and rigid. My eyes fell on the man who walked up to stand closer to us. "You must be the new recruits then" he spoke with a strong deep voice. He was made to command. "I am sergeant Dolls of the 501st divsion. I will be over looking your training for the next few weeks so I would not make an enemy out of me" his face didn't change his expression once. He kept a stone cold stare as he looked from each one of us. He looked at me for a bit longer and started walking closer. I tried to keep myself calm and show no fear but he was a truly overwhelming force. "What's your name then?" He asked not taking his eyes off me.

"Haught sir" I said with as much strength and confidence I could muster.

"Don't let me down then....Haught" he stepped back again and moved his hands behind him "the lieutenants will take you to your rooms" and with that he walked off. So this was it then, This was my life for a very long time now. I was excited for this new chapter but also I was terrified of being away from Waverly for so long. We were inseparable. I walked with my group to the building we were taken to and head up a few sets of stairs before we reached our room. It was quite large, everyone got their own bed and a little space beside it. I chucked my bag down and started to unpack all my things.

"Haught?" I turned quickly to see who spoke my name. It was a young girl, probably around my age. She stuck her hand with a smile on her face "Johnson". I took her hand and shook it firmly.

"Good to meet you Johnson, Oh and uh, Its Nicole" I pulled my hand back give a quick smile and I dug into my bag.

"Ah right, yeah im Theo" she chuckled and started to unpack her bag on the bed beside me "sorry I just wanted to feel like I had some kind of friend in this place" she looked down nervously at her bed. I pulled out a small picture of me and Waves from our engagement and stuck it to the wall above my bed. My fingers traced over the picture for a moment and I closed my eyes, forgetting the girl beside me had said anything.

"Whos that?" her voice made me jump slightly and I opened my eyes. "Sorry you dont have to tell me" she looked down slightly awkwardly.

"No its ok, that there" I pulled out another photo from my chest pocket and offered it to her "Is my fiancé" I couldnt hep but grin and be proud by the fact that Waverly is my fiancé . The picture was one I took awhile ago, she has the cutest of smiles. It only hit me that what if my new friend didnt like lesbians. That fear was quickly extinguished when she made a loud awe and looked at me.

"Shes very very pretty, you got a good one there" she laughed slightly and offered the picture back. I took it and shoved it back in my chest pocket.

"I'm the luckiest girl alive" I agreed and finished unpacking.

"501st" we all turned and snapped to attention. "At ease" we all made the exact same movement at once, moving our hands behind us and relaxing slightly. We already seemed to flow well as a group. "Its time to start your training"

Waverly's POV-

I had stopped crying now, they had dried up but my eyes were still red and puffy from all of it. My heart felt empty. I hated being away from Nicole, she is my rock, I could always rely on her being here to help me. I guess this was a good life lesson, Nicole cant always be there for me, if something happened....no I couldnt think about that right now.

"Why did she have to go Wyn.." I whispered into her shoulder and Wynonna just smiled a little and kissed the top of my head.

"Waves its a few weeks ok...a month, we can survive without our redhead" she chuckled a little and gave me a squeeze.

"Wynonna you arent engaged to her, you dont understand my struggle" I muttered and I felt her tense beneath me slightly. She got up quickly and pushed her hair out of her face.

"Believe me it hurts me too. Do you think I want her to go to war? I want her to stay here just as much as you do I just understand its what she wants" I didnt expect this kind of reaction from Wynonna. I stood up and pulled her into a hug and I heard her cry. We just stood holding each other.

"What did she whisper to you before she got in the truck?" I asked quietly and she pulled back slightly.

"I uh...she just..told me to look after you" she smiled a little and turned away and left the room. She was hiding something but I couldnt tell what. but right now I just wanted to sleep.
