The Traveler

I want to travel

It is a simple thing

A common thing

But it is what I want

I want to see the world

I want to see how others live

I want to experience other cultures

Cultures I have only read about

I want to travel to unknown places and see unknown things

I want to experience the lives of others

The music, dance, and food

I want to see the clothing and the colors

I want to see the history

The emperors

The kings and queens

The farmers

The writers, the artists

The musicians

I want to see all of it

I want to see the mountains, the rivers, the oceanside cliffs

I want to see mountains that appear as if they are floating

Rolling hills that look like they were created from rainbows

An ancient river alongside Gumdrop Mountains

Places that belong in Sci-Fi movies

Places plucked straight from fiction

I want to see cities

Perched upon the edge of a cliff without falling

I want to see the ancient ruins

Cultures that existed so long ago that all that remains of them are their structures, surrounded by mystery

Ruins surrounded by desserts, by jungles, mountains, and perched atop a cliff

I want to see it all

Rice paddies, waterfalls, and monorails

The bubbling brooks, roaring waterfalls

Natural pools and hot springs

Celestial palaces

I want to see places untouched by technology

Places transformed by technology

Places with a magical mixture of ancient history and unparalleled futurism

I want to see hustle and bustle

And a place where time stands still, and is only a construct of our imaginings

A serenity and peace that exists nowhere else

An intensity that pushes people forward

I want to travel

Never stopping, never resting

Changed by the things I have seen

Someone else that has never been seen

I want to return with new eyes, a new heart, a new soul

I want to return stronger, wiser

I want to return, and tell my stories

Tell stories that no one will believe

Stories that people will whisper about

I want to return

And plan my next adventure
