A recent law was drawing particular ire from the peasants, one, by the name of Hamfast, was publicly refusing to eat until the law was changed others in Zigohar were beginning to take notice. A movement was forming…
But movements could be dangerous. It took only the slightest nuge, for people to trade demonstration and discussion for violence-- to go from a group of concerned citizens into a mob. This revolt would have to be dealt with before it became a threat.
“It's come to my attention that a group of villagers are performing a protest in the town square over taxes on the nearby village. They are led by a notoriously tenacious woman by the name of Hamfast. Hmm...I should really go to the town square and speak to them
immediately.” Arslan was very worried about the situation and decided to head to the townsquare to try and speak to Hamfast about the situation.
Once Arslan arrived to speak to Hamfast…
“We are protecting the general conditions of the village. Life there is nearly unbearable! We are refusing to eat until YOU do something about it. Do you really want the deaths of all these people on your hands?”
Arslan was silent for a moment but he notices his Advisor step forward by his side. When was she even here!?
“Little rebellions like this rarely amount to anything, m’lord. However, I do suggest you look into the issue with the village. Perhaps some solution will present itself?”
She had a point. So Arslan heads to the village to assess the situation.
This is beyond what I could have imagined. The conditions are deplorable. It seems to me that the village is generally overpopulated, and that's causing lots of issues.
Arslan thinks and thinks to himself what he should do next, but then…
“You have two choices m'lord. You can either handle the decision yourself to improve conditions, or you can use a strategic reduction of the villager count will improve condition.”
Arslan nearly got a heart attack, once again, his Advisor appears right out of nowhere. Was she eavesdropping on him this whole time!?
“By using a strategy to reduce the villager
count...you can't possibly mean to let my people die!!” Arslan was utterly shocked by this idea. It was unthinkable! He became king to help the people of Zigohar to survive, not to die!
“That is one way to handle the overpopulation m’lord. But the decision is up to you.”
“I'm going to do something about the village to improve its condition! Because there's no way I would ever kill my people!!” the very idea of killing his people simply to lower their numbers enraged him. It was disgusting. He would very much rather help them.
“Understood m’lord.”

Arslan leaves the village and returns to Hamfast to discuss improvements.
“Thank you! A king should protect his people! I will suspend our protest and meet you at the castel to discuss plans.”
With that being said, Arslan returned to his royal castle with both Hamfast and his Advisor, and he calls for food from Caleb the servant to cook up.
Caleb served both Arslan and Hamfast some very delicious looking food. It looked much better from Arslan's cooking. All he's really able to cook up is gruel…
