The following day, Arslan felt refreshed. He was still sore and his cuts remained unhealed, but his wound by his side was treated. So...he was feeling a little bit better. But he still wonders why it would be a King's duty to kill a bear. Could it been to protect the people…? Maybe. Perhaps when he gets the chance he should ask his Advisor?
But Arslan couldn't ask her now. Currently he was sitting on the throne and for his dury today, he was to hear three petitions.
The first person to had appeared was a beautiful black woman in a purple dress. But what she came to get advice on was….very unexpected.
“Mighty one, I have a problem. I am possessed by demons. That's not the problem, though. The problem is that I'm beginning to enjoy it. What should I do?”
“If your enjoying it, that's the first sign that something is wrong. Get to a church immediately and tell them the Monarch has authorized their strongest exorcism.” Arslan tries to find the right words to say. Usually giving people advice isn't something he's very great at. But he tries his best.
Of course, your Highness. I should have seen it. Thank you for your guidance!”
Eventually another woman shows up. She had shoulder-length brown hair and grey eyes.
“Your Majesty, I, your humble servant, wish to begin a family. May I have your permission to conceive a child?”
“What? Of course! You don't need the Monarch’s permission to have a child. That's just something you can do. Go have a child! Be well!” Arslan smiles gently.
“Your Highness is most gracious! If I am lucky enough to have a child of your fine gender, I will surely name it after you! Twice!”
Hold on...was she saying if she’s lucky enough to have two children, she'd name them both Arslan!?
That weirded Arslan out a bit...but he decided for it not to bother him.
This time a man appeared. He worn dark skin and a black mustache.
“Your Highness, the work conditions in the fields are deplorable. Your subjects work long, hard days. They are barely compensated, and moral is plummeting. I think we should give the workers a delightful fruit basket to improve morale.”
“Sounds good! Everybody loves fruit baskets! If the sight of a shiny, new fruit basket does not being a smile to your face, then your heart is made of stone, sir. I say yes.” Arslan smiles and hands over fifty gold to the man.
The man returns a smile to the king.
“Very generous, your Highness! With this much gold, we can even afford five grapes instead of the standard four!”
With Arslan accomplishing his final duty for the day by hearing three petitions, the king returns to Hamfast to inform about the villages improved condition.
Once in awhile a situation popped up that the king just had to step up and handle himself. And handle it, he did! Open revolt had been avoided, and order had been restored.
And did the ends justify the means? Of course they did! Did you see those ends? Those were pretty good ends.
The story now centers around a young man. A man whose past is unbearable, and one who has a Titanic heart, and one who thirst for revenge out of blood lust drives him mad….Eren Yeager.
