Wizards were funny

Wizards were funny. You never knew if they were going to turn a bunny into a banquet of flowers or demand unequivocal surrender to your kingdom.

Zigohar was under attack by one of the latter types of Wizards. The wicked sorcerer claimed to have the power to destroy the entire kingdom! Someone would have to challenge him.

A hero from Zigohar would step forward, discover the evil sorcerers weakness, and destroy him. Two heroes, to be exact.

Inside the Kingdom of Zigohar, there stood a castel. A Wizard's castle. The Wizard's castle is a mysterious structure dedicated to the arcane arts. No one is really sure what goes on in here, but eerie  sounds, colorful lights, and occasional explosion could be a clue…

Mikasa Ackerman was a Wizards that lived inside the castle. She often would practice on magic spells and witchcraft on the inside. She never has uttered to any living soul about the fact that she was a Wizard. Not even to Eren!  If anyone spread the word, she would most likely be executed and hung on the spot!

There's been several times however, Mikasa has felt the urge to tell Eren and Armin her secret, but in the end, each time she tried she stopped herself. She couldn't take any chances.

This was, at least Mikasa's worries until the King made a law that no Wizards or witches who have done no wrong, shall under any circumstances, be executed, hung, or placed in the stocks.

This disappointed many of the people, but everyone respected King Arslan's decisions since he always seemed to make the right choices no matter the situation. So the Citizens obeyed.

Mikasa was puzzled at first, and wondered if this was some sort of trick. But it wasn't. There's been times she has even seen Wizards walk about and perform magic freely outside, exposed to the kingdom!

Some we're weary of the wizards sorcery, while some watched in awe and amazement. The wizards we're loved, and they were hated. Even after seeing that all Wizards who pose the kingdom no harm was accepted into the kingdom as they are, she wonders if living as a Wizard in secret would pose to be a wise choice. The law could end up changing, after all.

What if one day, the king just decides that all Wizards are bad and orders the kingdom to drag all the Wizards away towards the pit of judgement to be hung or dropped in the actual pit of judgment to be torn to shreds by the lurking monster that sleeps deep within...

Mikasa shakes her head as she tries to snap out of her thoughts. Such an idea was a nightmare for her. Her mother and father were Wizards, just like her. They always told her, no matter what, and no matter the circumstances to never reveal herself as a Wizard. It was to keep her safe.

But Mikasa couldn't help but wonder if times has changed. Elsewhere outside the kingdom, if anyone knew she was a Wizard, she would be killed for show. But...what if things have changed here?

The king was well loved by everyone in the kingdom. He was known as kind hearted and wanting the best for his kingdom and his people. Often a lot of the woman here would even be crushing on the young King! So perhaps he will end up keeping his word for no harm towards the innocent Wizards who pose no harm.

But either way, Mikasa refused to reveal herself. She couldn't do it. If she did, she risk signing her own death warnet. And it was a risk she wasn't willing to take.

Mikasa's parents were killed back when she was a child. She and her family lived in a kingdom far off from the Kingdom of Zigohar. Her family was poor, but they all managed to get by someway or another.

Her parents always told Mikasa to keep what she truly was a secret. That if she did, she could risk losing her life. So she couldn't tell anyone at all-- not even any friends she may make.

Back then, Mikasa always obeyed her parents wishes, even now. So she nodded her head, understanding and did as they warned.

“We love you Mikasa…” was the very last words she heard her parents speaking to her before stepping out their cabin house door and disappearing out of her life forever.

Her parents always told her to never reveal her true identity, and somehow or other, they ended up going against their own advice and they were discovered and tied to a wooden pole together in front of a huge crowd before being burned alive.

Mikasa never shown up for the show. She ran away upon hearing the news and ran miles and miles away from the village, never to return.

When Mikasa was on the verge of collapse, she encountered young Eren and his father. They took her home to give her food and rest. Eren's family asked where she lived and where her parents were.

“They're….gone. it's cold...I want to go home, but….I don't have a home anymore.” She spoke very quietly as she shivered.

Right after Mikasa says this, her eyes widen when she feels warmth surrounding her neck. Eren had a scarf and gently wrapped it around her.

“Is that better?” Eren blushes. “It's...warm.” Mikasa says quietly as she tugs to warm red scarf closer to her face.

“If you don't have a home...why don't you stay here with us Mikasa?” Offers Eren's father. “B-But….” Mikasa begins to stutter right after, uncertain if this was really fine. Was it really ok for her to stay here?

“What's wrong? What's with that face? This is your home now...don't worry about it.” Eren reassured her. It took only those few words Eren spoke out, for Mikasa to feel reassured and safe.

“...Okay.” She nods with a whisper.

For the rest of Mikasa's childhood, she stayed with Eren and his parents at their house in Zigohar. Zigohar was such a big place. At first, whenever she stepped out into the city or villages with Eren, she held tightly on to his hand, scared to get lost if she let go. Scared that someone, by only a single glance, could tell that she was a wizard and would immediately take her off to the pit of judgement.

But nobody thought such a thing. Most people were friendly towards her. But there was a mix of good and bad people. But nobody assumed her to be a Wizard or anything of the sort.

As Mikasa grew older, she began to mature and she wasn't afraid of wondering out in the city of Zigohar with Eren. She became like a second mother figure as well as a sister to Eren, even if they weren't related by blood.

Mikasa was eventually introduced to Eren's best friend Armin in time, and the three became a close trio of friends.

But ever since the death of both Eren and Armin's parents when they all got together on a cruise into the Ocean and never came back….Eren had changed.

Eren blamed both Armin and Hannes for the death of his parents, even though it was not their fault in the slightest. Eren became hateful and seemed to distance himself from everyone, even Mikasa.

Mikasa was still good friends with Armin at the time, but Eren she felt distanced from….and it pained her. If it wasn't for Eren, she wouldn't be here today. It hurt her being ignored and rejected by Eren. He wanted near nobody. Not her, not Armin, just….nobody.

But ever since Eren realized the truth that it wasn't Armin or Hannes faults for the deaths and opened his once blind eyes to the truth, he changed for the better.

He was friends once again with Armin. And Eren has even started seeing Mikasa again, which made her very happy. Right now she felt her life was perfect, bring able to be in Eren's life again. And knowing that both Eren and Armin were able to once again get along….it warmed her heart.

Mikasa no longer wears the red scarf Eren gave her when he and his dad saved her life many years ago. But she keeps it in a safe and secret place in the wizard castle. Sometimes if you take a peek in, you may still catch her holding the scarf in her hands and cuddling up to its warmth.
