Eight

Today was a boring old Tuesday, i only sold 30 of my papes (and I usually get 50) today just wasn't busy. I was out still trying to sell papes when i saw Albert and JoJo come running up to me. "YOUSE AND RACE KISSED?" The both yelled. "Would ya shut up! And no, we didn't he just kissed me on the cheek." I said trying to hand someone a pape. "Same thing." JoJo said. "Anyways, tell us about it!" Albert said. "Ugh, nothing happened, he called me beautiful which isn't new. Then he kissed me, ON. THE. CHEEK." I said emphasizing the last sentence. "Well he sure didn't make it seem so, uhhh...BORING!" Albert said. "Well what did he say?" I asked. "We's cant tell you that information." JoJo said. "Ugh, well i have to try to sell my last 20 papes, see ya guys later." I said. "We's can sell them for ya so you can go ask race what he thought of the 'kiss'." Albert said trying to take my papers. "No, I'm going to sell them, bye" i said as a smiled the turned around.

'Finally' i Thought as i sold my last pape. it was really late but i was determined to sell them all today. "Hey! Lilah!" I heard jack say as I walked in to the lodging house. "Hey jack." I said tiredly, yet I didn't want to sleep. "How's was's your day?'' He asked as a thought popped into my head, 'I really hope he doesn't know race kissed me on the cheek, he may kill him.' "Uh good, hey um I'm going to go on the roof alone." I said trying to get away so there wont be a chance of him asking me about race.

I went up to the roof and speaking of, race was up there. OF ALL PEOPLE! "What's youse doin up here?" He asked. "Just um because." I said walking up the the edge where he was. "Not much to look at." He said looking off. "I've seen better."
"The sun is nearly gone,
The lights are turning on.
A silver shine that stretches to the sea.
We've stumbled on a view thats, Tailor- made for two.
What a shame it I'd towards you and me." He sang looking back at me a couple times.
"Some other girl, and guy would love this Swirling sky, but there only you and i,
And we've got, no shot.
This could never be. You're not the type for me."
"Really?" I replied sarcastically.
"And there's not a spark in sight, what a, a waste of a lovely night."

"You say there's nothing here,
Well let's make something clear I think i be the one to make that call"
"But you'll call?"
"And oh you look so cute in your polyester suit."
"It's wool"
"You're right,
I'd never fall for you at all.
And maybe this Appeals,
To someone not in heels
Or To any girl who feels,
There's some chance for romance.
But I'm frankly feeling nothing."
"Is that so?"
"Or it could it could be less then nothing."
"Good to know, so you agree."
"That's right."
"What a waste of a lovely night." We both sang.

Skip to the dancing part.

Me and race where really close, like closer then we've ever been, this could be it. And of course the Jack Kelly decided to come on the roof and ruin everything. "Uh hey guys." He said. "What where youse doin?" He asked. "nothin." I said as race agreed. "Uh ok." He said confused and walked away.

"Well ise better get to sleep. See ya in the mornin." He said. "Ok, bye." I said as he also walked away. i really liked race, everything about him really, how his blue eyes lit up when he was happy, how his little blonde-ish brown-ish curls bounced when we ran. His personality, he was a good guy, and i fell for him. Wait...i fell for Racetrack Higgins?
