"Mom I got my report card back." Sherman slammed the door to the condo, and found that as usual, all of the doors linking to each other were open. Setting his backpack in the corner, him mom was nowhere to be seen. After listening to a few yells from the living room, he realized that a few gang members were staring intently at a television and twirling their thumbs around controllers.

"Oh hey Jitters. You got your report card back?" Sherman plopped down on the black armrest of the seat beside Nolan and smiled. "Yea, where's mom?"

"She's out with Sebastian and Papillon. Covering a few footsteps with the Nites." Hunter replied without taking his eyes off the screen.

Sherman nodded and cheered on the winning team until someone lost. Hunter stood up and properly greeted the boy. "So did you look at the report card?"

"Nah we weren't supposed to open them yet." He replied

"You listen?"

"Sure, not like they told me I couldn't eat pizza at home. I can live without opening the report card for a few minutes. But not eating pizza however..." Sherman wiggled his eyebrows and Hunter burst out laughing.

"We're rubbing off on you kid. Anyways, let's take a look."

Tearing open the brown envelope, he pulled out his report card and scanned through it.

"Well how is it?" Hunter peered over the mess of black hair and scanned it as well. "Nice, a B- in English. Not bad for a kid with dyslexia. And wow, an A in history and an A+ in math. You sure did better than us when we were in school kid."

"Yea, I'll fund you after my university degree so you guys don't go broke." Sherman lightly punched Hunter and rushed downstairs when her heard the footsteps of his mother.

"Mom!" He cried out, rushing downstairs with energy. His mother put away a leather jacket and smiled at him.

"Guess what guess what guess what?" He cried, jumping up and down continueously.

"What?"

"I got a B in English!" He grinned.

"No way!" Caroline chuckled and joked.

"Yes way see?"

Sherman quickly shoved the report card into his mother's face and she grinned, ruffling his black hair. "Good job kiddo. I knew our hard work payed off."

She bent down and kissed his cheek. "Eww mom."

He tried not to grin.

"And Rory wants to come over."

Her face stiffened a little bit. "Sapling you know we went over this."

"But mom, he really wants to and he says his mom is getting worried we're hiding something. That just makes it more likely to reveal the gang if you ask me." Once again, Sherman was a little too smart.

"Why don't you ask Sebastian." She sighed.

Unfortunately, Sebastian was even stricter about it and poor Sherman didn't feel so good after his report card after all.
