"Hey, hey Sherman, you good?"

A voice drowned his ears and he recognized it as Conner or Travis's. He squinted and saw an area of many plants, and children of Apollo walking around. They seemed happy to be there doing things that they loved, unlike him, who wanted to figuratively kill himself.

"This is the infirmary, owned by half Apollo, half Demeter. You really passed after hard after summoning a herd of huskies." The twin said.

"Hi Travis." He said weakly, trying to recall what happened. By his side was Clarisse, who was watching him like a hawk with her arms crossed. Right, he was claimed. To the worst possible god. His mother fell in love with Ares? Ares?

"I'm Conner." The Stoll brother said.

"No you're not." He whispered. "Conner hates the infirmary, would have brought me cheese, and you're Travis, hoping Katie's gonna be here."

Travis turned red and Clarisse snorted. "Yup, he's definitely one of us."

Oh god.

That ass was his half-sister.

He wanted to strangle the life out of her that moment, and he sat up in fury, attempting to jump out of the bed. He killed a man for god sakes, he could strangle a buff girl even if she was stronger than him. He was his mother's child, he was the smart one who knew how to defeat an enemy.

However a pain reached his back and he winced, ignoring the pain, only making it hurt more. Travis yelped and tried holding Sherman down, despite how weak he was, Sherman had been built up a while ago. Clarisse watched in amusement and then Miranda walked in, saw the daughter of Ares and immediately backed up. Then she landed her gaze on his face, which was immediate with rage.

She flinched and he met her eyes, which were wide with fear. Then it dawned on him, she as afraid of him because he was a child of Ares. He sighed and stopped struggling. "Do you have opium or something?"

"Dude opium is like extremely add-"

"I'm also in a whole shitload of pain and been through an even bigger shitload so yes, if not just give me some poppy seeds. My mother taught me biology." He growled, the pain in his back was not going away.

"Sherman you are an ass." He glared at Travis, who gave him an unimpressive look. "You are a very smart but brutal ass."

"So I'm a smartass?" He suggested? "I'm aware. I'm also the son of the God of assholes so I guess it runs in the family."

Travis was taken back. "Jesus you are also very very vicious right now and it doesn't seem to be lack of sleep because I am very familiar with those symptoms. Why do you hate yourself so much. It's just a dad who ignores you. He'll never do anything. Anyways, godly parents are like that. Get the girl or get pregnant, leave them with a kid with ADHD and dylexia, then take them away. We've all gone through it. All the Ares kids have gone through it. They love themselves a lot too."

"It's not about the fact that I'm his son, it's the fact that my mother was the one who fell in love with the manly brute." Sherman said through gritted teeth while taking a poppyseed muffin and snarfing it down. He threw the wrapper into the cab across the room. "God. GOD!"

He was about to go on a full on rant until Travis interrupted. "Gods."

"Hmm?"

"Gods, instead of saying God, say "gods". It's a demigod thing." Travis replied like it was the most basic thing in the world. Sherman wanted to yell and scream and Travis just wanted to correct his grammar. This world was messed up.
