Sherman felt a rap on his door and he sighed, raising himself up from the couch in the basement. He opened the door and saw his distressed stepfather with his leather jacket on and a gun in his belt. Seb and Caroline had just gotten married a week ago, it was a small wedding with no white dress or anything but he could call Sebastian dad now.
"What's going on why are you like this?" He stammered, looking back at August who was sleeping over on the first day of summer vacation.
"We need to go, the Praskers found us. All of us." Panted Sebastian, who quickly examined the room. "We need to go right now, our lives are in danger."
"What about August?" He asked, looking back at his clueless best friend. "He can't just stay here can he?"
Sherman's breath grew heavier, although they were one of the biggest mafias in all of New York the gang he was in had their dirty business done cleaner than all of the other mafias, as it was something they were known for. While other mafias relied on killing everyone in the way, they were smooth, sharp, and ninja-like. However, this put them at great risk because their reputation succeeded the mot. Most people came to them for their business but they could be easily crushed by the Prasker Mafia. The Prasker mafia was basically the Big Bad Wolf. Although the wolf was less intelligent than the hunter in the fairytale, he could easily eat the hunter if he was lucid while being cut open.
"He can't, if they ever find out he had ties to you, he would be asked about too many things and killed. You need to get all his stuff and a lot of yours because we're leaving in five to ten minutes. Bring warm layers, preferably black, and a pocket knife in your pocket at all times. Hurry."
He nodded and Sebastian bolted up the stairs twice as fast as Sherman could have. "August, pack your stuff, this isn't good. I'm so sorry but you're likely stuck in my life for a really long time."
No one who got into the gang got out of it.
Sherman realized that whatever was happening was likely going to be severely dangerous.
Then the car pulled up along a ditch and he found a group of more familiar cars belonging to Hunter and Nolan.
He bit his lip nervously and they were led out of the car. The groups huddled together and on each belt, hung a sleek pistol. Sebastian ran forwards, his sleek brown hair shining in the glow of the yellow streetlights.
His mother's leather jacket hung draped loosely along her sides and standing up, Sherman reached exactly her height. Usually, he would be taller, but his mother wore tall heeled combat boots. Even as the only female and in a shoe disadvantage, she looked the most intimidating, as her shoes laced up to her knees, black leggings, blood-red shirt, and an extremely high ponytail with cat-like eyes, you could tell she was an important member of the pack.
After all, she was the alpha's mate, and for good reason too. She ran faster, thought quicker, and had something to lose. She had him. Caroline Yang was practically a model in combat gear, but what made her so strong was the fact that she cared for each member of the twisted mafia like they were her family. She knew every strength, weakness, and power of everyone, and without her, they were puzzle pieces without a distinguishing edge.
Sherman deeply admired his mother but he had long ago decided that he wanted didn't want to be involved with them after he graduated.
In fifteen minutes, they heard another set of cars come along with many motorbikes, pulling along in the side.
A man stepped out of the car, who was definitely the leader of the gang. He looked nothing like their leader. Sebastian was tall, muscular, chiselled jawline sort of guy, but the other was chubby and ugly. His face was covered in scratches, a large tattoo was printed on his neck, a pair of overly large sunglasses were rested too far up his nose and a messy heard hung from his chin.
