Chapter T W O

Essence Marie Kenzie

I was woken up by my phone ringing I groaned as I grabbed my phone with my eyes still close. "Hello" I said sleepily into phone. I glanced at the clock and it said two forty-six.

" Hello, yeah girl I need you to come over my house David and I got into another argument." Monica voice blared into my ear. Did she really just ask me that after she was with my husband earlier today?!

"Why the fuck would I do that?" I asked sitting up and looked over at a empty spot in the bed and rolled my eyes. She signed,

"Because your my best friend and I need your up lifting words at a time like this." She said, I rolled my eyes.

"Mm, well Trevor is sleep and Michael isn't here so no. " I replied.

"Please, you can just bring him wit-"

"I said no Monica, damn! Now I would like to go back to sleep!" I said, as I heard the door down stairs close.

"Okay, dang! go back to sleep then." She said.

"Gladly." Then I hung up on her. I shook my head and sat my phone down on my lap. I can't even believe I trusted this bitch. I stared at the door then it suddenly crept open. Michael creeped in and stumbled on his own two feet. He came over to the bed and cut on the lamp and jumped as he saw me wide awake.

"Oh, hey baby." He said in a shaky voice. The second he opened his mouth you smelled the liquor roll off of his tongue. I stared at him hard before I opened my mouth.

"Where were you?" I asked holding in my anger from coming in my voice.

"I uh went out with David and we had a couple of drinks." He confessed scratching his neck. I nodded my head and bit my lip. " Awe baby, Essence I'm sorry-"

"Don't say shit to me about earlier today!" I said venomously right above a whisper as I clenched my teeth. He closed his mouth quickly and started doing small hand movements towards the bathroom.

"I'm uh I-I'm just going to go take a shower." He confessed rubbing his neck and walking to the bathroom. I shut my eyes slowly as I took silent deep breathes to keep calm. I got out of bed and slipped on my rob and walked out of my room. I can't keep dealing with this lying and drinking it's on it's peek. I walked down the hall to a light blue door and it was crept open. I opened it further and Trevor was sound asleep. I walked into his room and onto his dark blue carpet as he slept on his stomach. I stood over him as stared at him. He was adorable when he slept, I bent down a little and rubbed my thumb against him cheek. He was a deep sleeper and I don't even know why.

"I love you baby so much." I whispered, I stared at him then bent down lower and kissed his cheek. I know it's going to be a couple of more mouths before I actually get the balls to tell Michael I can't do to it no more. It's will hurt Trevor but we will never know when Michael will stop and it'll be for our own good. I turned back around and closed his door and walked back to our room to find Michael in a fresh pair of under wear and sitting on the edge of the bed with his head in his hands. He signed,

"Fuck man, I'm losing her." He whispered to himself. I stepped into the room and he didn't noticed. It looked like he was wiping his eyes. Was he crying? I walked over to him and sat on his lap and he looked up at me and his eyes were a little red and he quickly looked away from me. I love Michael very much, I just hated his actions and the way he handled them.

"Aye." I whispered. He looked up at me, " Michael I'm not going to lie to you. You are losing me, slowly but surely. I love you very much, But this drinking has to fucking stop!" I said staring into his eyes,

"Baby, I'm trying so damn hard! I'm fucking up and I'm trying to make things right. Be-because if-if I lose you, my son. It will kill me!" He said confessed truthfully. I grabbed his chin and pecked his lips,

"Well change." I said and stood off his lap and took off my rob. He grabbed me by my waist and pulled me between his legs staring up at me.

"I love you Essences, you have to believe me." He said kissing my stomach. Note, I didn't have anything on but some boy shorts and a small tank the didn't cover my entire stomach.

"Yes, I love you too. Now I would like to go to sleep now." I said moving his arms and climbing into bed and turned my back to him as I got under the covers. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close to him as he put his head into the crook of my neck and I closed my eyes. I took a deep breathe to relax and he kissed my neck.
